Ok so i know i bang on about primark but i was in there today, not looking for anything in particular, when i came across some prom-style dresses and they would be perfect for bridesmaid dresses.
They are a thick silky type material, strapless, corsetted and knee-length and they come in about 6 or 7 different colours (peach, silver, champagne, green/ turquoise, pink, black & red.. i think) and they were £14 absoloute bargain!
They could be easily worn again so i thought i'd pass the knowledge on as i don't need to get any yet but for those of you that do.. pop into primark! :money:

this is similar to what they look like but they're knee-length.

  • That is fab. We don't have a Primark, much to my dissapointment, but they are great for people who want them in those colours, out of interest how much were the jackets? Tiger x

I think its 16 or could quite possibly be an 18 as most of their stuff goes up to size 18 now x

Thanks Jayjay, after I asked you I realised they were kneelength and my bridesmaid needs a long dress in a size 22 (shh you mustn't tell) I thought this might do but she thought it would maky my lilac dress too pale & I'm not sure it's suitable either now, then she suggested this 1 which may be pretty in real life but don't think it will do either.

I much prefer the first one! Although the second is not a bad dress I don't think it looks bridesmaidy at all! The first one is lush

Just a tip for anyone purchasing bridesmaid dresses in BHS.

A lady gave my sister a nudge and said 'hey I've just got these two dresses for £10 each'. Both had a small thread pulled in them, but turns out if damaged they have to sell for £10.

My bridesmaid dress was reduced to £70, but was a bit dirty at the bottom, so they knocked £10 off it (didn't really matter as we will be turning it up).
Couldn't believe it when she got it home, we noticed a few pulls in it too, could of saved another £50!!!
Took it back the next day, explaining about the pulls and they knocked another £10 off.

We really wanted to mention the girl being charged only £10, but couldn't mention it incase they thought we'd done it on purpose.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D

    JayJay, great link - thanks.

I went into the Birmingham store to have a look last weekend and they didn't have them. Has anyone seen them in their local stores and where are your local stores? I haven't tried my local one yet (Bristol) as it's so small, I thought Brum would have been a better bet.

I have family/Bridesmaids based in NE, Mids and South East so we can get to most areas between us all.

We'd ideally be looking for red.

    TIA

    SK x
