    Hello everyone.

I'm really, really sorry I didn't get back online again yesterday - I was just too zonked out, and tbh I'd probably have talked Martian if I had posted! (That'll teach me to stay up all night fixing the computer!)

Welcome Seeya, ScotWill, HellsGranny and Darknesshayz. It's nice to see new friends, but not nice that you're feeling so bad, if that made sense.

I had no idea how this thread would take off when I started it - I'm not a board guide or anything, just another lonely bod with a long history of depression (first went on Auntie Dees in 1972) and chronic pain (since about 1977; diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 1999, and lupus finally in 2003).

For the new friends here, I don't usually get online at all at weekends, but there'll doubtless be someone around at some point.

I'm going to shut up for now, as I just know I'm starting to ramble.:o

Whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope it's a good one.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

OMG what do you mean? What has happened?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi Lady M,
I can agree with this one. After several years of feeling down, excessively tired. painful muscles, etc. I researched on the 'Net, printed off a load of stuff about Fibro and CFS. ttok it to my GP who put me on anti-inflammatories and Co Dydramol. Four years on, going back to see another GP recently, I was told I had no diagnosis! !!!!!! am I being treated for?

My condition (whatever it is), is progressing to the point where I can no longer have a bath, in case of falling, has to be a sit down shower, Walk very slowly with a stick, and am in constant pain with joints and soft tissue pain. I'm 61 and feel 91! I hardly dare leave the house alone.

Somebody, but not my GP, suggersted I should be applying for DLA, but can you do that without a diagnosis?

    Cheers, HG

    Heya HG.

It's horrible to hear that you haven;t had a diagnosis after so long! I'm surprised that don't have some suggestions as to what you may have. The not knowing must be so hard for you, especially with the amount of pain you're in. :grouphug:

Is it possible to be seen privately, or to get a second, third, or even fourth opinion? Your well being should come first and the fact that you haven't yet got a diagnosis is unnerving!

With regards to DLA, you don't have to have a diagnosis to receive it. :) It's all about your care and mobility needs. Not what you've been diagnosed with. When I first applied, I don't think I even had a diagnosis and was awarded low mobility and middle rate care.

It's worth applying. The form can be very long winded though so it might be worth asking CAB or a similar organisation to help. It is possible to fill it out alone though. I did, as I used to have a big problem with asking for help.lol

Molly, I feel stunned and totally powerless, is there anything we can do? We don't even know people's real names let alone where they are so can't call anyone to help. This is awful.

I feel powerless too Unity. :(

I've contacted MSE with a link to the post begging them to do something i.e. use her IP address to trace her home address to make sure she's okay. That's the only thing I know to do. :(

Great minds think alike LadyM - I have done the same thing and only hope that something can be done.

If everyone else who reads this does the same, it might get the mods' attention.

Yeah. I know what when I had posted something similar on an AOL board when I was younger, the police came knocking at the door to make sure I was okay. They said that AOL had traced my home address from the IP address.

I really hope it isn't too late and that something can be done. :(

It's a truly terrible situation and we can only hope that someone gets there soon. She normally picks the children up from school I think, so if nothing else perhaps they will have realised if she wasn't there? Fingers crossed.

Welcome to all the new people Darknesshayz, HellsGranny Seeya and ScotWill, sorry to see you on here, but at least it is one place where you will usually find someone who will listen or read :o.

Hugs to all who need them :grouphug:.

  • Hi Folks

Firstly, thanks to Lady Morticia for contacting abuse, and Unity for contacting a member of the team and alerting us to this. I've gone through all the checks available to us but the account has been set up to be as generic and non specific as possible. There isn't a huge amount we can do at this point to help, although we are certainly concerned for the welfare of Sandy71 and hope that the comment made above isn't what it seems.

If anyone hears anything more, please let us know.
