Sandy, no. You have friends on here. Your kids need you. I understand the seizures are horrible; I can't know what it's like for you, obviously, but please, please don't give in to despair.
Look, hun, I'm nearly dropping through tiredness just now, but hang in there, and I'll be back when I've rested a bit.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Sandy and Crazy-girl - don't you bloomin' dare, either of you! You both have people that love you and care about you - on here as well as at home.

Lady M - I've had dicktors look at me the same way in the past  thankfully it has been rare in my case but when it happens it hurts a lot. I know whenever I get in a fibro-flare or an ME crash  there are some days when I can't even summon the energy to wash my face, let alone my hair and brushing my teeth is a mammoth task, when even the noise of the toothbrush hurts my head. They should all have to walk a mile in our shoes and see how they feel.

Lamewolf - you are right maybe I should make a chocolate teapot from the box of chocs the surgery will not be getting this Yule ;).

It's my DH's birthday today (mine in another five days :o) and we were going to go to the cinema, but it will have to be tomorrow as I'm just too tired, after a bad night. We did manage to get out yesterday so I was able to get a card and present for him. There's roast chicken in the oven and a cottage pie, plus an almond and coconut rice pud, very MSE getting them all in together. I think there may even be a wee drop of Drambuie to toast his health as well :T.

At least going to the cinema tomorrow means we can see 'Law Abiding Citizen' with Gerard Butler . We might even go twice and see 'New Moon' as well :rotfl:.

The weather here is fine and sunny so I hope it is the same where you are :j.

Take care everyone and look after yourselves - it's allowed ;).

Sandy and Crazy_Girl - Hang in there girls! I don't really know what to say as I feel similar myself sometimes and even little suggestions people make feel like big steps to me.
Just remember that you both have friends here and we really wouldn't want to lose you both. :)

I've thought about M.E a lot lately as I have quite a few of the symptoms but I'm worried that if I mention it, I'll be fobbed off and deemed a hypochondriac. :(

Your birthday is right near mine. :D Mine is on the Wednesday. :)

OH and I really want to see "Law Abiding Citizen". It looks awesome. :D We're hopefully going to the cinema for my birthday (energy levels pending.lol) so may see it then. :)

The weather is cold and sunny here. :rotfl:OH and his mum have just gone out shopping so I have the house all to myself for a little while, which is making me anxious but I really couldn't summon the energy levels to go out with them. :(

I went out earlier and I'm already zonked out. :(

I'm the day before you then - good old Sagittarius eh?

I have a friend who worked on 'Law Abiding Citizen' so I'm particularly interested to see it for that reason - as well as it being Gerard Butler :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls.

I think the best thing you can do is to get as much information as you can from the net and take it along with you next time you see your doctor and if there are any specialists in your area - ask for a referral. When I was dxd I think a lot of it had to do with the rheumatologist's wife suffering from it. He'd seen her problems and recognised them in others.

Don't get anxious about being alone in the house, they won't be very long - try and look at it as having some 'Me Time'. I suppose I'm lucky in one way with being an only child as I grew up very self-reliant - but the sacrifice was not having other kids to play with:(. Gawd knows why they always gave me board games at Christmas .

I've tried all sorts of things over the years to help, including MSM, although I never got to try Guaifenisen. I take a multi-vit and multi-mineral tablet every day and Gingko Biloba plus Cod Liver Oil and Magnesium with Calcium and also B complex. I know my diet is not as good as it should be - due to me really not fancying food - so I don't think the supplements can hurt and they may well help.

If your doc thinks you're a hypochondriac - change him/her. You may well be able to find someone on another panel who has an interest in ME/Fibro, then you'll be laughing :D.

    Good luck

  • Hi all. New to MSE and this thread caught my eye. It always gives me hope when I see a forum where people are supporting each other so well! I've struggled with depression myself over the years, and really hope things improve soon for those of you who are finding it especially tough at the moment, particularly sandy71, crazy_girl and seeya23 - wishing for better times ahead for you. And LadyMorticia, I agree with Unity that you should get it checked out; after all, the doctor should be there to provide a service to you and make a professional assessment, not to judge you.

Hello ScotWill, Nice to see you - it is a nice thread!! Its nice to be able to log on at your best , your worst or in between and get some encouraging words. None of us want to feel like this and we're all striving to lead 'normal' lives. I've gained such an insight into why I get depressed, I honestly think I've learned more on this website than from any medical professional (and I was first perscribed AD's when I was 7 years old!!)
LadyM - ask your DR outright if he can recommend another GP who has more experience with ME and autoimmune conditions because you are not prepared to carry on feeling the way you are feeling. Practise saying it in the mirror until you feel confident - I had to!!!
Sandy, crazy_girl and seeya23 - if you feel like doing something harmful I'm asking as a friend - not tonight. Put up a post, keep busy, whatever, but please NOT tonight. And tomorrow we 'll be here to help you deal with tomorrow.
Sandy especially - its hard with children. I feel guilty all the time. Do you have any help from social services. In the past I have had help getting mine to school and Direct payments because I didn't qualify for DLA (although you can get both - DLA for you AND dp's to help with costs associated with the children)
    Unity - I think you pm'd me - I'll do that next.

On the plus side - I was sofa-ridden Monday but back at work today and really felt I earned my wage. Cooked a good tea and got some jobs done around the house. Gonna wrap some chrimbo gifts tonight but planning an early night -Need to pace myself - got a lovely day to look forward to on saturday and want to enjoy it not endure it.
    Love to all
