we prefer it to Worcester, there is a new shopping area called Weavers Warf which has M & S, Next, Brantano, 2 sports shops plus more and it is right next to the car park so not far to walk. There is also a new Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi since you were last there plus a retail park with Sainsburys and lots of bigger shops. Well worth a visit.brokenwings wrote: »

Morning All!
First of all (((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))Specsappeal, Halight, Coldstream , and Hester.
Took DS to work for 8am. Got my MS Welfare lady coming to see me today. I'm getting depressed about work. I've been fighting the Head for the last two years, and with this last relapse, I don't think I can fight any more.:o This is not like me, I'm usually so strong, but this relapse has gone on and on, and I'm fed up. Maybe this time I'll accept re-deployment.
Going to DD's for dinner tonight. Chilli apparently, she makes a good one:T
New front door going in tomorrow, hope it's not too cold:rotfl:
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all..............((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))) if you n one.
Its a bit grey but OH tells me that it should brighten up later. He is still asleep........I will have to go and get a shower, have to take the car in and get the radio reset, I had to have a new battery in November and they forgot to do it.
No real plans for today, will try and get OH out for a walk later, chicken casserole for supper tonight, just got the chicken out of the freezer, will have to give it a zap in the micro to defrost it want to do it in the slow cooker.
Much better night last night, woke about 6.30 turned over and slept for another 2 hours, not so tired this morning. It seems if we are expecting something to be delivered I do not sleep so well, keep waking up to look at the time which is a bit frustrating at times!!!
Hopefully a no spend day today.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all,
Hugs to those that need them or just want one
In early today as I couldn't sleep, but haven't actually achieved much since I've been here as my gels don't seem to want to set.
Had a letter from the council refunding some council tax that we over-paid, which was nice.
OH's parents are due coming to visit in early febuary. I really don't need this, especially as OH seems to think they can stay at ours. There is no chance. They are going in a hotel (preferably one a fair distance away) and I don't care how much it costs. Honestly. We have a tiny 1-bed flat and there is no way it will accomodate three extra adults (his sister is coming too). Either that or I am going to a stay in a hotel. They drive me nuts, I think it is mainly because my parents are very active people so I'm not used to sitting around eating all day and shouting down the phone. They also don't get up until midday and don't go to bed until 2-3 am in the morning and I'm not going to be able to put up with that as I will be working. I guess the other thing is that my parents aren't particularly "parental" so I'm not used to be being told I can't go out with wet hair/without an umbrella/coat/scarf/kitchen sink. They didn't do that to me when I was a child, let alone now.
I have got around £40 worth of waitrose vouchers that I can use to supplement the shopping, but I am rather worried about catering for people with odd - and inconsistant - food issues. Basically his mum has this metal wire thing that she waves over food to see if she can eat it. If it's okay it vibrates one way and if its not it vibrates the other. We also don't eat a lot of meat and I can see that being a huge issue. I'm really not sure what to do.
I made carrot cake last night because I couldn't sleep but messed up the frosting so it is a little bit gloopy. Never mind
Green lentil curry and chappatis for dinner (or rice if I'm home late)
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning N9eav and all to follow,
Not so cold here today. I kind of miss the frosty weather, .
Day off today, I need to rub down the other half of my kitchen counters, the first half look fab, and show up the second half  , so will get that done this morning.
I also need to make some cookies for the coming week and tidy through, will out a wash on.
HM lamb burgers for tea with wedges and peas / sweetcorn, so have to make the burgers later.
Will manage to fit in a game of scrabble later. I have just finished reading 'A thousand splendid suns' which was a great book, I want to read 'The kite runner' next, wrong way round I know,
, so might see if I can order that cheaply today.
Any hoo, hugs where needed, have good days all xx
Halight, hope all goes well today x
Hugs to coldsrteamalways xx
If you want a straight swap, i have The Kite Runner and haven'nt yet read a Thousand Splendid Suns so would be happy to do that if you are interested. My copy is a second/third hand book though so it has been well read. Hope this helps. PM your details if interested and i will then pm mine.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Morning all,
Churchie, hugs x
specsapeal, thinking of you. What a terrible shock for your whole family.
coldstreamalways, sorry to hear your news.
halight, I'll be thinking of you today.
candygirl, what a bitter-sweet thing for your family. You must be very proud of your Dad.
Hester, I hope you have a better day today.
Not much has been happening here so I haven't been posting. Dd went back to university on Sunday and I've been missing her dreadfully. For those of you who have grown up kids away from home...does it ever get any easier saying goodbye to them? I made some of her favourite foods for her and froze them so that she could put them in her freezer as soon as she got back, but they were confiscated at the airport.
What did they really think an 18 year old girl was going to do with a few tubs of frozen hm tomato sauce and some lasagne and shepherds pie portions that might defrost on the flight.
Thanks to all who have been asking about Tilly. She is much happier than she was. She had her stitches removed yesterday and the vet seemed pleased with her wound. She continues to dribble, but armed with incontinence pads and towels we're dealing with it.
Mr Pink has a business meeting in Dublin tomorrow and he suggested that I come with him. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I jumped at the chance and asked Dad and Stepmum to look after the boys, so we're off this afternoon. I can't wait! It's not often I get the chance to go on an all expenses paid jolly! So today I am packing. It's amazing the amount of stuff four people need for one night away from home. I suppose I'd better get on with it.
Have a good day everyone.

Well how grumpy were the kids this morning.
VERY GRUMPY!
I lost my rag a bit with all their whining about not being well enough for school/college, but eventually i managed to get them both in the car and dropped them off.
Today i planned to get a lot done but i'm in a rather sluggish body that just wants to sit and drink tea and eat jam on toast whilst reading the OS board....what's a body to do?
If i can motivate myself i will strip the kids bedding off the bed and do a couple of loads of washing and also dust and hoover the lounge. The dust is so thick I could write my name in it (actually i might just do that, it would be more fun!)
Tea (our evening meal) will be very lazy today...fish fingers and smiley faces and peas. A throwback to my kids hurriedly prepared meals when we first moved in this house 10 years ago. I don't think i'll be joining them in that, i might have a sandwhich instead, or a tin of soup. Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Morning all!
Coldstream - hugs to you x
98 - add some more tinned toms to you lasagne sauce, needs to be pretty runny and sloppy (how attractive does that sound?!) cos of the lasagne sheets absorbing so much, they seem to suck in even more liquid if you freeze them!
Much warmer here today, rain has stopped and I can see bits of blue peeping through, almost enough for a sailors trousers!
OS wise I have put on the bm, put yoghurt stuff in the flask, flavoured some more cream cheese for dd1 (she'll be safe from vampires!), done the pots, swished and swiped the kitchen and now need to hoover and sort out the bathrooms - why is it only me who can see that the shower needs cleaning?!
Lunch today for the kids was hm rolls with cheese and carrot, raisins, yoghurt, twinks and oranges. I've just eaten egg and beans on toast so prob won't need lunch!
Dinner tonight is baked pots with beans and cheese and salad.
W**k tonight so will try and fit in some sleep as well! Got a meeting a dd3's school about what they school is doing at the mo, quite good really, it's a sort of discussion forum, some good ideas have come out of it, and it stops any issues festering as well!
Cas - ouch to the cost of the school trip! My lot come home with those kind of letters as well, I must drive the school mad, cos every time I ask for a breakdown of the costs, well they once wanted to charge us almost £300 for 2 nights in a youth hostel for dd1, everything they were doing was free, no activity or adventure courses, so costs were travel and food - strangely the cost dropped quite a lot from the initial amount!
Have a good day all, I'm gonna have a cuppa and a catch up xx
Edit:
Pink - have a fab trip, I lurve Dublin! I did giggle about your dd having the food confiscated at the airport, did you not know that hm lasagne is a dangerous weapon lol!
Celyn - nice to hear from you, was thinking about you earlier as I was mixing up the cream cheese (I first read about making it in one of your posts, I'm not suggesting that you resemble it or anything lol!), and wondering what you were up to! Hotel definitely seems the way to go for your in laws, what's with the metal rod - perhaps you should see if you can get her into one of Gordon Ramseys restaurants, I'd love to see his reaction to her waving it over food he'd cooked! Good luck with them!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

brokenwings thanks to you too hun, what a very kind offer xx
Well I have done the other half of my kitchen counters, need to leave them to dry for 24 hours now, they look good, and I won't have to do them for another 6 months :T , have hoovered through, mopped floors, and tidied, just waiting for floor to dry and will then make cookies, and prep tonights and tomorrows dinner.
Quick question, I know one of you os ladies will know: I always put a tin of lentil soup in my chicken casserole, but in a further bid to cut down on spending I bought a bag or red lentils, which do not need soaking overnight, would I have to cook these before putting in my sc, or can I bung them straight in ?
Hugs where needed, better get on xx0 -

redruby, red lentils take about half an hour to cook so just throw them in and they'll be fine. I never pre-cook them before adding them to the slow cooker.
