  • I have been with AOL for 8 years and have been paying £34.99 a month for platinum plus. I recently requested a cancellation/Migration Activation Code as I wanted to get the offer from Sky ie sky tv broadband and telephone for £26 a month. I am now happily paying AOL £9.99 a month for Platinum broadband and phone service. So give your ISP a ring and tell them you want to cancell or migrate and see if you can get a better offer....
  • I was on orange 2GB download limit with speed of 8MB at £17.99. Phoned at the end of contract and got put through to "care team" and now pay £9.99 with the same as above but the download limit is only a guidance and i can go above it without getting charged! Also got a free livebox for free calls and wireless! I am also told the price will stay the same at the end of the contract.

That sounds like a good deal. Do you have to be an Orange mobile customer to take advantage of this?

Are Orange connected with Tiscali or not?

Not sure if they are connected. I am with o2 for my mobile and they never even asked. I had been with them for BB for a year and my contract was up so i just told them i was looking around for a better deal and wanted to know what they could offer. Easy as that and saved £96 a year!!!
  • I am looking to go broadband. Can anyone out there advise me, I am currently paying for the basic Sky package @ £21 a month. If I take out the See,Speak & Talk package being advertised, is it as good as it sounds @ £26 a month. I am currently on BT dial up internet & Option 2 for free evening & weekend calls.

assuming you have a BT line, then try aol silver at 9.99 per month. ask for and get the 2mb speed and no limit on downloads.

that's not true, aol capped my silver line at 576kbps because I don't switch off my pc. they have the worst customer service of any company I have ever encountered, even worse than osps and brittish gas! Avoid aol unless desperate!

I called sky today. They were not open to any discounts, which I guess they don't have to considering all the business that they must be getting from Virgin Media.

The only offer I was given was £10 (on top of my £37) to add 6mb broadband to my account, and skytalk. But I would have to agree another 12 month contract with Sky.

I then called virgin to cancel my broadband. They immediately offered me £8 discount on my 2mb broadband, so £17.00 per month. Alternatively she gave me 10mb broadband for £17.50 for 3 months. I have to call back to cancel the 10mb (or ask for a further discount) at the end of the 3 months or get charged £35.00. Benefit being that there are no further tie ins.

Virgin also pointed out that I can only expect 1mb from ADSL, which I later confirmed from an independant source.

Virgin also said that they hope to get Sky One back eventually, and to call back in a few months. THey might be able to offer a better package thhan sky.

What happens when you want to cancel ntl broadband?

My daughter is in student accom and is moving to different accom for next year. They will need another broadband connection when they move but I think they will have to start another one at the new place. What happens with the modem though will ntl want to pick it up because she wont be there anymore. I know last year there was a lot of problems with the previous tennants being charged for unreturned equipment I don't want this to happen to her and are ntl virgin pretty good at disconnecting when they are supposed to as once shes left she wont know if they have really disconnected it
    Thanx

Initially, why not ask NTL if they will transfer the account to the new address? ISPs are fighting for busines and may want to hold onto each customer.

If she wants to cancel she can do so as long has she has been with them for the minimum period of the contract, otherwise she will have to honour the contract.
