Yes she will be just into her years contract so can leave without problem its just I wondered if they will definitely want to collect the modem. Are they doing a refer a friend thing now still? As I thought I could refer her for the new place
Most ISPs won't worry about collecting the modem but it's best to ask them when you cancel. Secondhand modems are't much use to anyone. Most ISPs offer a free modem with new connections.
The other thing to bare in mind is that the modem you have will be a cable modem and won't be any use if you switch to a normal ISP so you will need a new modem.
You'll find most ISPs offer a referral scheme but you will already have to be signed up to recommend someone.

Hi all,
I have cancelled my phone line, tv service and Broadband with NTL/Virgin and it will go off completly one the 20th April.
I want to get BT put on for my phone and Broadband and just wondered if I can still request a MAC code from NTL even though I have cancelled the service?0 -
you cannot get a MAC if you were using NTL via cable...0

Thanks MrJ, I didn't realise I didn't need one0

Hi there
Anyone know how good the Orange deal for current pay monthly customers is, where you pay 5 pounds a month to get 5mb broadband and unlimited calls to landlines and orange phones. Similar to the free 2mb one Martin mentions but better! Anyone on it?

are there any isp 's with a contract period less than a year that are decent!/?0

I too was trying to find one without a 12 month contract. AOL told me if I don't take their free wireless router I can have their silver package for 14.99 without any contract0

I have just found this thread and I don't have the stamina to read through 33 pages, so I apologise if this has already been covered.
We have been offered what seems a very good deal from Vodafone. £25 a month covers broadband plus telephone line rental and free phone calls. We currently pay BT £26.98 p.m for broadband plus another £18 for the phone. (The £25 is a special deal for customers with a mobile phone contract, otherwise it's £35 p.m.)
I can't find any reviews of Vodafone, so I wonder if they are a new ISP? Does anyone currently have their broadband?
Also has anyone phoned BT for a MAC code and been offered a cheaper deal?
