espresso is completely justified and I agree with him. Tisc are the most complained about ISP on these forums also. Their Customer Service is non-existent.

from £9.99pm isn't as cheap as free either ;)
  • Virgin Media (previously NTL) have improved, and generally I find them a little more reliable than BT.
I can make a fair comparison, as I have Virgin and BT to the house (one for home, one for work).
They're both slow at replying when there are faults, but generally resolve them in good time. With Virgin there have been less faults recently.

One definite advantage of the Virgin Cable Broadband is the speed is as close to a guaranteed speed as you will get. Living 1.6Km from the local BT exchange, I can't get the apparent 'up to' speeds offered on BT-based lines - and that's true for most people. But with the Virgin 10Mbps XL option I'm getting 9.1Mbps downstream... and that's fast.

They're also prepared to 'do a deal' on their packages at the moment. See the other thread for more details: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=405085

did you have any luck other than aol, or do you know any sites that specify the contract lengths?

I've recently migrated over to newnet as I didn't want a new twelve month contract as I'll be moving around come september.

It's 12.95 a month with a 3GB download limit but they have other deals. Best thing though is that its a 3 month contract.

yes, cable for broadband, but if you must have a landline phone service then go BT, cable is too expensive for phone service.
