I am a novice to the chat board and haven't read all of the broadband threads but would just like to flag up. I think pipex is pants! I was with them three years ago and got fed up of the poor service then and decided to move to Homecall. Pipex have since take Homecall over so I am now with them again. I am a uni student and was waiting for my student finance to come through and missed making a payment so the put a stop on my phone line and broadband connection. Since I paid the bill over a month ago I've been reconnected on my phone line but cannot get onto the internet. I've reported this to them and they have said everything looks fine from their end so haven't done anything about it. I've also asked seven times for my MAC code as I want to move suppliers but although they keep promissing to send it by post I haven't yet received it.
Anyone else had trouble with them?0 -

Why? I have used IE & OE for years have never had a problem with them-or most other Microsoft software. Most people have no problem with using MS software come to think of it. So leaving out any potential anti Microsoft rants why NEVER use IE or OutlookI would love some decent telly on a Saturday night0 -
I'm very confused now.... i would like to move to broadband from my dial up connection. I am not really interested in faffing around changing my call options/line rental so i'm just interested in a cheap broadband provider. Can anyone recommed what they think is the cheapest and best? I have up to 8mb speed and wouldn't mind an unlimited download although i don't really download music or videos. I've been looking at Primus, Madasafish, Pipex, Plusnet, Eclipse..... what is the best/cheapest? Don't want to spend over £15 really otherwise its too much of an outgoing compared to my dial up which is £4.99 per month!!They call me Mr Pig!0

I think the only unlimited one in your budget would be AOL silver.0

He'd be better off staying on dial-up if that's his only option!0 -

I agree. AOL has now been taken over by Carphone Warehouse (TalkTalk). Need I say more.

has anybody signed up for the redten internet that promises up to 24MB internet with no download limits and even a free pc. Only downside that i can see is that it is a 3 year contract, but at £19.99 a month looks very attractive. Any Views??0
