Hi All,
My year of £9.99 NTL broadband has just finished and the price has gone up to £17.99. I havent got a phoneline coming into the house, and I would prefer not to pay for connection / phone line. That only leaves NTL for my internet, so i am wondering if anyone else on the same deal i had have managed to haggle them down?
Thanks all0 -
Hi Everyone.
I've just taken the plunge and signed up for broadband with Namesco who are offering free broadband (512K with 2GB usage) and a router for 12 months when you pay £60 connection.
For a light user like me it sounds like a pretty good deal.
Check out the article on ADSL Guide for more details (http://www.adslguide.org/newsarchive.asp?item=2752)
The direct link is www.names.co.uk
I'd appreciate people's feedback on the service they have had from Namesco - hope I've made a good decision!

Not yet but Free to Air TV via your ISP is in the pipeline very soon. I believe that the BT Total Broadband IPTV service was trialled using Freeview so watch this space.
There are of course a number of websites dedicated to offering free TV streams from around world but the size and quality is pretty poor at the moment.
To get near-broadcast quality TV streams you need at least 4Mb speed. And to get the sort of quality and functionaliy of live TV you need about 8Mb speed. At present there are very few people in the UK with that kind of bandwidth - this doesn't even take into account things such as contention ratios or distance to exchange etc so as you can see we're all still some way away from getting telly through your broadband connection.

i've actually got 6mb speed. but i just had a thought - if i was streaming tv i guess it would eat up my 5meg download limit. so would have to think about moving providers anyway.Debt at worst - £13000 (Jan 2011)

I'm looking at getting wireless broadband for my new house, I'm a student and have looked through some of the posts here. I need it to supply 5 people. I was thinking, by looking at what people have said, to use madasafish...has anyone been using this and do you think it would be good for me to use?
I really don't have much clue about computer things, other than the basics, so please don't start with complex questions or answers! It scares me! haha
