Hiya, can I join too please? We use an old quality street jar but it's not been counted since Christmas and now I'm itching to go check and see how much there is! Got loads of £1 coins from getting my daughter's hair cut this morning but doing a bootie tomorrow so need to keep these. Will just have to get my hand down the back of the sofa.0

Yes, thanks for the welcome! I found 6p that someone had dropped in the local shop today, so that went in my pot :j
I work in a college and students are always dropping 1p and 2p coins on the floor, I'm going to start picking them up and saving them (I don't care if they think I'm weird)
Yes, Focus, it was fab to be able to pay off a bit of the debt. Unfortunately my DH immediately spent money on the card again! I've now taken them off him and hidden them in a safe place!
Don't worry if you can't save much between now and pay day, the important thing is that you want to save and will do so when you can. I think we are all in the same position, money is extremely tight around here!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hi Harriet, nice to see you too. Hope the car boot goes well tomorrow! I bet you will have loads in your quality street jar when it's full!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

I've had a proper read through this thread now and noticed some people were wondering how to get rid of the change (bank, supermarket machines etc). It's always a hassle to go to the bank, and it's worth trying your corner shop. Mine always take my loose change as it saves them going to the bank - they give me money bags too, if I run out, and I've been doing it so long they don't even bother counting it now! Some shops might not do it but it's worth a try.April Grocery Challenge: £80/£64.39

I found a whole 1p when I was clearing out my kitchen drawer today so that went in the pot! And I had enough 50ps to bag up and take to the corner shop, that will be another tenner in my saving account :j There's £10 more of assorted change in the pot but that can't be bagged up yet so I'll have to wait.April Grocery Challenge: £80/£64.39

Well done Lizzy! That's so great, £10. I get frustrated when I count my change and can't bag it up!
Focus, don't worry about it, I can't put much in my pot really but any little bit helps. We are all skint, that's why we're here! I so long to get out of debt, all our money seems to go on paying the minimum payments on our cards. I really want to get to a position where I can pay more than the minimum. I'm chipping away at one card that we pay the most interest on."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
