  • Well, finally got round to counting up the change in my pot for my silvers (50s, 20s and 10s) and got £38 :) Going to pay it into the bank tomorrow am and put it towards some food shopping later in the month.

I gonna wait until my 5s bottle and the coppers box are full before I count those. Almost up to half a Bombay Sapphire bottle with the 5s!

Hi pjays! Welcome to the challenge! As you have probably read, we think our illustrious leader has a problem getting online at the moment, but hopefully he/she will be along to welcome you too.
    In the meantime, happy saving!

I've got £40 in my pot, will pay it into the bank soon and put it on DH's highest interest card. I also applied Abbey as per Martin's email, so hope to hear from them soon. Would be great to do a BT.

Have actually paid th money in today, to rescue our account. A cheque hasn't cleared and the rent has gone out making us overdrawn. When the cheque clears, I will be able to pay the money to the CC's. It's quite exciting!

How are you all getting on? Put much in your pots lately?

I'd like to join please! I've been registered on this site for ages but hardly ever come on here, probably because I'm not a very good money saver:embarasse But I'm here now because I had a bit of a wake-up call today when I had to fork out over £500 for a new water tank and pipes, and because I have no savings it went on my credit card. So the next couple of months will be very lean indeed (though I do have a low APR on purchases so at least the interest won't be much).

Anyway, it seems like a good idea to start small, and I've actually been collecting my loose change for ages. Normally I just change it for notes at the local shop and spend it, but from now on I'm going to pay it into my savings account, which will be my emergency fund.

At the moment I have £32 all packed up in money bags, it will get paid in tomorrow!

Hi Focus and Lizzy, nice to see you. As you may have seen the OP has gone missing but we are hoping he will be back soon!

I've paid about £40 that I'd saved and have paid it towards a CC. I'm now working on accumulating some more! I think I've got about £10 in my cupboard now. DH is a good source of revenue, he leaves all his loose change lying around the place and I 'relocate it.' LOL! The wierd thing is that he never seems to notice! It's going to pay off his debt so it's a worthy cause!

Yes, thanks for the welcome! I found 6p that someone had dropped in the local shop today, so that went in my pot :j

I work in a college and students are always dropping 1p and 2p coins on the floor, I'm going to start picking them up and saving them (I don't care if they think I'm weird)
