sold ps2 is buyer pulling a fast one !! dispute raised

I think it is unfair of the buyer to leave negative feedback when 1) the PS2 was working when it was sent and 2) he got a refund. He should have left neutral saying PS2 broke on transit - got refund minus postage. Or something along those lines.0

i sold a ps2 on ebay (to a new buyer) it was in working order.
he has now logged a dispute with paypal saying the item does not work and wont read cds.(i think he means the games)
i am refusing to refund, but paypal have put my funds on hold.
but the buyer is now re-selling the item and there is no mention of it not working , is he trying to pull a fast one and just get a refund do you think !!
what can i do as i know paypal very often decide in the buyers favour !!!
this is the item he is selling 130280531406 which is the item i sold him which apparently dont work ! !
This is the op, so I don't think it's unfair, he had to raise a dispute for the refund.0 -
well seems strange the ps2 he was selling sold today for £168 , was a new bidder i think he was bidding on it himself with a new ebay account, especially has it had my games in the photo...... dhl are sorting my claim out0

Ofcourse he had to raise a dispute... he hadn't returned the PS2 and as a seller I'd certainly not refund a penny either until the goods had been returned and checked by me to make sure they were what I sent and that they had indeed stopped working!
I think most of this incident is mainly due to the buyer being new and not quite grasping how ebay works and instead of saying "look I'm sorry but it doesn't work, looks like it was damaged in transit. I'd like to send it back so you can check it yourself and arrange a claim with the carrier and so I cna have my refund. In the mean time to protect myself I have raised a dispute so the money is placed on hold with Paypal until the items get back to you and you can check etc".
But that's just me of course

so both his bidders were 0 feedbacks..if he was bidding on his own item how much in charges would he now have to pay as it went at £148!!?TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

just a thought..... it is sneaky and goes against what ebay is about but oh well! Set up a new account just to bid on 'his' ps2. Bid it above what you sold him it for. He will decide not to post it to you as he expects to get more money off this other buyer! Then you get a refund (no chance of sabotaged ps2) and refuse to buy the ps2 when you win on this other account! If you he returns you a faulty PS2 you should bid on his listing (be sure to bid high so you win) then claim a refund through Paypal saying you received faulty goods. Keep the working PS2 and send back the faulty one to get your refund.
A lot of faffing about I know but it gets him back and you can then leave him a neg!
This is what I would do, but then again I am quite vindictive - lol
It never ceases to amaze me the "advice" given out on this site.
As far as I am aware, MSE is a consumer help site, not a criminal skills school. People come here for help, not to put themselves at risk.
Absolutely shocking.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I think you have quoted those posts out of context.stevew8975 wrote: »It never ceases to amaze me the "advice" given out on this site.
The thinking at the time that they were posted was that the buyer was trying to pull a fast one. Therefore they were aiming at getting back at the bad guy.
Now that it turns out that it seems to have been damaged in transit then it is a different story.0 -
I had exactly the same problem.I actually posted picture on here with plier marks on the plug. I just sent all details to the courier with what the buyer had said and all photos and left it to them to decide. They did refund(interparcel) so that is the best you can do.
I would never post a PS2 old type again. They really do not travel well anyway and not worth the hassle.
Hope you get your refund.0 -

And two wrongs always make a right...
Regardless of the rights or wrongs of the buyer, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should stoop to the same level, putting their own eBay account at risk, or worse.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Steve is right, two wrongs still don't make a right.JimmyTheWig wrote: »I think you have quoted those posts out of context.
