I read this thread 5 minutes ago and have to report a success due to this.
I bought a couple of items the other day and was overcharged £6 which when I pointed this out to CS they refunded the exact overcharge. After reading this thread I rang Tesco main CS on an 0800 number and they asked me to return to the store who would be obliged to DTD but that would take me at least an hour round trip! So the nice lady at CS offered to credit my clubcard with 600 points.:T
Thank you.

Blimey you were lucky should have been only £1.76 ( 22P OVERCHARGE X 4= 88P X2 dtd = £1.76)

Great to see all the old names on this thread, hi all!
My local likes to pretend DTD doesn't exist, I had to remind a young lad about it only the other day (re the Quality Street I posted on the misprices thread).
But the funniest result recently there was before xmas when I got a couple of tins of xmas biscuits on an OOD £4 SEL (scanned at £9.99 each). The 'makeup endowed bulldog' on CS knows that I know about DTD so she tried another tactic this time - apparently her till 'wouldn't let her' refund more than the amount I had paid (as in this case).
I smiled and said 'more like your Manager won't let you...?' She denied it and denied it, calling over a colleague who backed her up, they absolutely insisted the best they could do was R&R where double the difference would be higher. I pointed out that as full DTD would be higher, anything less than the price promise would be shortchanging me...no, they wouldn't have it.
So I said OK then but I will phone Dundee afterwards (was a bit pressed for time). So the second CS lady quickly processed my refund to hurry the irate queue along...so quickly that -amazingly! - she got her till to do the 'impossible' and handed me the £23.96 DTD. They never realised! :rotfl: :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh no not more mistakes
:j
Who would have thought, hey? A mistake that works in the customers favour. Human nature - such a biatch. Stores would run great if we could just remove the need for all these pesky staff....And customers...Who or what was I before you came in to my life
