Just before Christmas I got the best DTD deal ever! I was buying my husband a black coat marked down from £35 to £15. At the till I was charged full price so over I went to CS.
They checked the rail and confirmed that I had been overcharged, the assistant went to refund me £20 until I asked about the DTD policy. In the end I was refunded £40 meaning that MR T paid me £5 to take the coatCheap Christmas pressie or what?

To an extent it became irrelevant with the removal of r & r. Double the difference is far less emotional for all involved - less gain for the customer (generally), less loss for the employee (however miss placed that feeling may be).
It is a bit of a blast from the past being on this thread!
Constantine, thats an interesting view - but some duty Managers still get very upset by DtD and have told me that it costs them more than just what they refund to the customer. More than once in the past two years I've been told that DtD costs stores double, double the difference. Is it some kind of penalty imposed for poor PI or is it just the time it takes to fill in the paperwork etc?0 -

Double the difference would still be cheaper than r & r, which also had a punitive cost to the store, in the vast majority of cases. Paperwork is not that time consuming. PI refunds have a budget and are tracked (forget the exact figure, but it is a fraction of a percent of total refunds).Who or what was I before you came in to my life

For the love of God! Please edit the title of this thread and spell "Difference" correctly.
It's a silly thing to get annoyed about I know, but there is little excuse for poor spelling when you have spell check underlining words in red.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0
