Very quiet today. Another NSD. Made gingerbread men with my 4 year old and made a onion, mushroom and pepper lasagna for dinner. I also made my youngest daughters a chicken omelette, from left over chicken and beans.
I'm taking part in the January Grocery Challenge and overspent on the first week but am determined to do better next week.0 -
Welcome Broomstick and well done with the cardigan and draught excluder. Thankfully draughts are one thing we don't have a problem with.

Hello all
It says a lot about the OS Daily that I feel I can post here without retribution when I haven't posted here regularly since October last year. But I still feel that I could post here today - and I need somewhere to let off steam. I received some bad news today. My Dad's sister died today. My aunt distanced herself from her family many years ago and only came back into the fold (so to speak) after her husband died. She was a lovely lady who bowed to her husband on every decision to keep the peace.
Sorry for not talking about anything OS - although I did make a lovely pot of lentil soup, made some HM bread and the WM was on before I received this news."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Annie I so wish it was kinder circumstances that had prompted you to post, but enormous (((hugs)))) to you and yours.
I've had a reasonable day. Loads of form-filling ( pity the poor trees that have laid down their lives:rolleyes: ) Royal Mail would like my Dad's signature........ mmmmm that's a toughie. The guy on the end of the phone had trouble reconciling the difficulty of getting someone who'd died to sign a form. mentioned forward planning.................... :rotfl: I'd cry if I didn't laugh:o
OS? Cooked a huge fry-up, including soda farls:D Does that count? Oh and two washloads done:pYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Once about six months after my husband died I had a young chap on the phone
Y.C 'Good afternoon can I speak to Mr W'
Me 'No I'm sorry thats not possible'
Y.C. 'But its most im[portant I insist that must speak to him'
Me 'I'm sorry my husband died in July so as I say it's just not possible'
Y.C. 'Oh for f$$ks sake ', followed by him slamming down the phone
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.I ended up laughing because my late husband would have absolutely folded up in laughter if he had been there.
God knows what this young chap wanted but he never rang back:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
((((((((((((((Annie))))))))))))))) I'm so sorry for your loss. May your family find peace and comfort during this very difficult time.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.
