Morning :hello:
Mr tru couldn't be bothered to make anything yesterday  so I curled up on the sofa and caught up on my fave TV programs
The V+ box is a wonderful thing :T
I should get the oven on and fill the fridge and freezer with HM goodies but today I can't be bothered  lol.Not sure if you have seen any of the threads on the special occasions board but there are lots of Christmas craft ideas that people sold well over the festive period plus an Easter one that might suit you or the flannel cupcakes/nappy cake ideas.
sorry I don't know what crafts you are in to so may not be approriate but seems a shame not to be able to sell your handmade stuff. Also on the making your own card thread someone was hired to make handmade cards to order eg wedding invites etc etc so you might be lucky with something like that??! Hope you don't mind me posting but I'd hate to see a crafty person give up!!
Oh noooo, of course I don't mind you posting about it
I'm definitely not giving up, specially as I had to reach my mid-thirties before I found something I'm actually good at  :rotfl:
I've got tons of ideas that haven't been mentioned on the SO board, usually I share ideas but this is my biz so I'm staying :silenced:
I'm just looking ahead, at the same time I'm keeping an eye on what people are buying now. But I'm really picky, I won't order supplies in bulk from China (for example), I want stuff from small businesses - the smaller the better. I want everything I do to be as OS as possible, that means supporting small businesses. I won't ask a chain to sell, I only ask local one-off shops to stock my stuff on a sale-or-return basis. This has the added bonus (though I didn't realise it at the time) of good discounts from them - mr tru gets his beer cheaper and sometimes gets a tasting of a brand new brew before it hits the shelves, so he's happy
I get discounts in farm shops, so I'm happy
I'm trying to change the world, one business at a time
So I have an OS house and garden, and an OS business. What's next? :think:Bulletproof0 -

Morning Everyone
It's -2 here this morning. I was going to go for a run but I think it wouldnt be long before I ended up on my behind so I will give it a miss(any excuse:o ).
Have just taken OH to work and will pick him up at 1 and we will go to the farm shop. We are trying a different one this week. It is quoted as being 'the harrods of the north' so I will need to be strict and just get the F&V i need and keep a rein on Mr Free who will be like a kid in a sweet shop. Popping to Mr S this morning for milk, eggs and yogurts and that is all I need for another week.
OS wise - need to pop the breadmaker on, dust and vac living room, its not desperate but I am trying to get into a routine of keeping on top of things, mop kitchen floor, swish bathroom and a couple of loads of washing.
This is the first time in months I feel on top of the housework. Must keep this routine going.
Have a lovely day

So pleased to here all is well and I'm really impressed with being so OS do you do any scrapbooking?? I've just started out in papercraft and have made a few cards with DD age 10 and not buying any this year (OS new year resolution!) but need to get going on scrapbooking to preserve the memories for my kids more than anything else! Would love to see your work, I love looking at people's blogs etc etc as everyone is so inspirational but I don't like some people's styles, I'm not a peel off gal or a flowery gal so finding my own style at the moment!! I appreciate you might not want to share any piccies if you don't have a blog as it's your business but lots of people do. Good luck I think it sounds wonderful!

Crazychic -Hope you are ok, at least you got it sorted mate. Get outside that will wake you up!! Have you seen the frost our back gardens??? Wow its cold. xxxx
Not been up long, was talking to crazychic on msn till late, and also a friend of my hubbys who split from his wife just before xmas.
Feel so sorry for him, no marriage problems as far as he was consurned and then she decides with no explanation that she was to young to settle down and kick him out!! They had been together for 9 yrs married for almost 2 and have two wonderfull little girls.
But we have managed to get him a flat nearby and got him afew bit from freecycle..but after talking to him last night hes really down as his wife has told him she has been out afew time with another guy.
So iv intited him for tea tonight after he finishes work as hes been living on beans on toast for weeks!
So a full beef dinner with all the trimming for tea!!
Rest of the day will be spent tidying and washing uniforms and helping the kids start their new homework projects. All quite hands on creative this time so looking forward to helping them. Also i started a blog in the new year..after enjoying reading Hesters so will have an hour working on that.
Have a good day all

Good morning everyone. It's frozen here today, everythings white.
Going out shopping today, need to buy some paint for my living room and then down to daughters to collect her washing.I spent two and a half hours yesterday at her house listening to her repair man bang and thump only to be told he could'nt fix her washer as it needed parts.Could'nt he have realised earlier.
Have no idea what we'll eat today, truth is we've had a bit of a tummy bug and nothing's agreeing with OH yet so I think it's going to have to be something very simple to soothe his tum.
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -

morning all
well I managed to make the crumpets yesterday HERE is a picture of them. They came out quite well and tasted DELISH!
here is the recipe taken from 'English Traditional Recipes' by Annette Yates
225g plain flour
2.5ml salt
2.5ml bic soda
5ml fast acting yeast (dried)
150ml milk
200ml water
sift flour salt bicarb in bowl
stir in yeast
make a well in the centre
heat milk and water to lukewarm and tip into well
whisk till smooth batter
cover and leave in warm place for approx 1 hour till spongy in texture
heat heavy frying pan/griddle
lightly oil surface and inside 3-4 metal rings (8cm)
place in pan to heat up
spoon batter into rings to a depth of 1cm
cook on medium high heat for about 6 mins until top is set and bubbles have burst open
when set lift off ring and flip crumpet over for approx 1 min
cool on wire rack
we had some of these for supper with butter and jam
Kathy thats gross it definitly needs mentioning. basic hand hygiene is very important especially at this time of year
PP hope you are feeling better
off to a discount food store now , which sometimes is fab and other times rubbish so fingers crossed.
