Utility Warehouse - any good?

Ok, this is my first post on here. I am thinking of changing to utility warehouse just for my electric. I'm Currently with Scottish Power and on a economy 7 meter. Utility warehouse day time cost is the same but night time cost per unit are 2.5p cheaper.
my question is can you just use the for electric or do you have to have other utilities too0 -
You only need take one service from them.
Before you commit to them, check out how they compare for your electricity using a comparison site, as they cleverly charge more than their tariffs suggest (they will make you pay their monthly membership fee on top of your electricity bill).
The comparison sites such as energyhelpline take their "hidden" charges into account when listing your options.
Check out this thread to see much more on uw before signing up to them:

If you do decide to go with them, don't sign up with a rep, but go via a cashback switching site (eg Energylinx) and get £15 for switching to them.
Note MSE Martin is saying to exercise caution on switching now (price changes are anticipated - if they go down, uw are not renowned for leading the field!)0 -
they can't be any worse than scottish power. They changed my tariff twice without telling me!!0

Read that thread and see what you think! There have been times when even their reps have found out about their price rises from customers posting here! Often after the rise has been implemented.0

just done energyhelpline.com and they come out cheaper again... so quite stumped now0

Don't forget the £21/yr club fee is a one-off cost and costs the same whether you take 1,2,3, 4 or more services from UW. UW's phone line/BB package is IMO very competitive in the marketplace and obviously if you were to take that in addition to leccy you wouldn't incur any additional club fees but would qualify for free global telephone calls at certain times of the day (I think taking 3 service, i.e. phone/bb (counts as 2) and leccy, qualifies you to make free global calls at evenings & weekends at no additiona cost. These can always be added at a later date and will eb included on one monthly bill. Just a thought.
PS I always though SP were very competitive on leccy, what are your figures/%tage of night use/area, please?Call me Carmine....

Where abouts do you live and how much electricity do you use on night and day rates?
UW's night rate is attractive. However the prices shown on their website do not include VAT and apart from the club membership, you do pay £4.50 or £6(+VAT) a month for Economy 7 and their day rate is very expensive.
Using enerhyhelpline I can find no combination of supplies where UW is the cheapest.0 -
UW's phone line/BB package is IMO very bog standard in the marketplace.
£20 LLU, £27 non-LLU for 40GB? £25, £32 for unlimited? Plus club fees. Nothing special about that. You can get global calls for less than the club fees plus the small price premium elsewhere and you don't need to take an additional service to receive them outside of weekends.0 -

£20/£27 is not for wireless - that costs £25/£32
I really like the up to 24meg! Few places can get 8meg. Are UW going to run a fibre optic cable to their customers;) (I read somewhere that the UK average is approx 3 meg)
In any case they(like all suppliers?) reserve the right to restrict the speed.
As said earlier in this thread IMO the UW phone/internet package is nowhere near as good as my BT package and roughly the same price.0 -

Got a link to this super duper BT package, Hugh? Is this it?

PS 'Up to 24mb' has the potential to be three times faster than 'up to 8mb'. Don't let your hatred of me and UW cause your IQ to leave the building...Call me Carmine....
