I can also vouch for e2save.
  • The Link are pretty good. Especially new cashback offer - no redemption. They send you the money within 28 days! I got mine on Saturday - £100.

Well I've had my contract (6230i) from mobileshop for 7 months now and my cashback deal was £75 at month 6 and month 12. I can confirm that I had no problems receiving my £75 cheque voucher from them. After sending off my 6month bill and cashback request voucher, I received an email from them stating they had received my voucher and payment would be processed within 45 days and it was. I even had an email from them stating my voucher had been sent off and if I didn't receive it within a certain period just to let them know.

I can therefore recommend mobileshop for cashback deals (based on my experience with them anyhow).
  • With reference to the question - who to avoid - this is definitely one to avoid.

One Mobile Village (OMV) is the outfit that Henry Amankwah and Saboor Sandhu are using to flog their mobiles again post 'Mobile Republic' in 2004.

One Mobile Village says of itself:-

"One Mobile Village is a brand we built ourselves from scratch. The idea was to target consumers with mobile phone contracts from 3 leading networks (Orange, Three and T-Mobile). The first thing we did was to develop a brand image - we came up with a corporate image with a warm youthful feel as we knew trust was important (sic(k)) and that we would be talking to a young crowd.

After developing the customer profile, brand and image, we embarked upon developing the IT systems to capture the details of the customers. We engaged a host of handset suppliers and arranged for them to drop ship the phones for us. The whole project took 3 months to set up end-to-end. Six months later the company is running to turn over £1m per annum and has over 2,000 customers, with a growth rate of 30%."

Got a marketing call from their call centre in the subcontinent and I became suspicious and asked for how they got my number....couldn't disclose it they said. The track record of Amankwah and Sandhu is not good. Check out Companies House information about their businesses.

Losses on Mobile Republic doubled every year from 2002 till its collapse in 2004.

The legal bit: Mobile Republic name/website is now part of the One Stop Phone Shop and has nothing (as far as I am aware) to do with Amankwah and Sandhu. OSPS comments - I leav to others.

Should this be separated off as a new thread Mr Lewis??
  • I've had no problems with e2save - cashback received within a reasonable time after 1st and 6th months, not yet reached the 12th month cashback.

Has anyone used or know of experiences with any of these:
onestopphoneshop, mobileoutlet, coolnewmobile, phones2u, mobileshop, buymobilephones, mobile rainbow?

    Thanks
  • Is that the same as "The mobile outlet" ? they seem to have very good deals but little is known about them on any postings.
  • Dial-a-Phone - have been great. Just received my 3rd cash back refund straight into my bank. I also get a text message when they have received the claim and/or a letter or email confirming the same. No prompting needed ever.

OSPS - lots of reminders needed and they will try everything to get out of paying you and hope you cave in and give up....

e2save - needed a reminder to send out the initial, 'automatic' cashback due after 1 month of the contract starting, but were efficient after that, sending me a text and keeping me updated. Have just sent in my first claim for month 4 cashback but I am not worried as most people on here seem to rate them reasonably highly.

Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first ;)
