Try red bamboo for Vegan food, great stuff http://www.redbamboo-nyc.com/ and if you are down near the Lower East side go to Babycakes http://www.babycakesnyc.com/
Also, I have found that american brand cosmetics tend to be cheaper but British and French like Elemis and Decleor can be more expensive or they were last year when the dollar was at 1.8 per pound so now they will be extortionate
Thanks so much ! - will definitely lookout for redbamboo and [yummy]babycakes!0 -
Ooooh, are you going with the SI ferry idea then?
Yeah we're not going to stay on it all night but try for midnight - eat cake then drink bubbles then go to a club/bar for some boggie:D
Thanks soooo much for the great idea though - I'll get some piccies and post them up in May when I get back
Greenface - thats an amazing pic :j:j:j0 -
Hi, newbie here! I've read through this thread and may have missed something so sorry if I have! I've also looked through all the flights info on the main site so just wanted some actual advice!
Myself and my husband are going to New York on the 1st - 18th August (dates are a little flexible). Flights at the moment are around £440-£500 for that time of year - is that normal? There are much cheaper deals for earlier in the year and Im wondering if I should hold off to see if they fall? Any advice would be fab!
Thanks!0 -

Im sure this will come across rude but what the heck.
Dont you realise why Aug would be more expensive than the vast majority of over months through out the year to travel???Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Yes I realise it would be more expensive but I wanted some advice on if this range was normal or would it drop at all. It's dropped about £100 in the past few weeks so hopefully it'll drop even more.
We're going for a family wedding so I cant change the dates too much unfortuantely!0 -
Right if you have a wedding to attend just pay the for the flights now, no one knows if they will go up or down, if we did the travel industry would be in tatters because we would only book flights on several months knowing that the flights are cheap.
Aug is one of the most expensive times of year to travel, for obvious reasons, so if you have plans which can not be changed then book the flights and get it over and done with. Or wait and if the flights go up then live with the increase in prices. I appreciate that this is a moneysaving site but £1000 for 2 people to fly to new york in high season really isnt that bad.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
