I've just come back from NYC and thats where i stayed, its very spacious, comnfortable and clean and the rooms are big also. One thing dont order room service its expensive, theres a deli as u turn left out of the hotel go there for breakfast! Have a great time, i didnt want to come home, oh and plus its pretty central even though its on 57th st, we walked all the way down to times square and ground zero and it didnt take long, another thing we got a cab from 34th st (by the empire state) back to hotel and it was around $6 pretty cheap for how many blocks we travelled!
Have fun!
Thanks loads!
That is so great to hear as we have been mucked about so much with travel companies.
Will take all that advice defaintely on board,we are paying £574 with insurance which I think is good for mid Dec

We paid £759 for last week each, but we went for 5nights, one thing aswell, if you do smoke ask for a smoking room as we didnt and we got a non smoking which meant going outside at night lol, also, dont buy too much from the gift shop you can get it cheaper in the stores in times square (pretty much everywhere) and if you want tickets for the Empire State buliding you can get them from the conceirge in the hotel for $20, which is the standard price, we went up at night,it was incredibily windy!!
The hotel is right near central park, just walk up to 9th ave and then keep going you cant miss it, its literally 2/3 blocks, we used to walk out of the hotel bear a right, keep going until broadway (2/3 blocks) and then follow it to times square, its so easy to walk around as they use a grid system, so you can't really get lost, we only took 1 cab for the whole trip as we walked all of it, amazing!
Also, dont get the bike/carriage things they are like $35-$50 and look crazy! If you want to do tours you can get the pass to go on the NYC City sights buses etc, we paid $49 for 2 days unlimited tours, uptown, downtown, night, brooklyn, harlem and a cruise around the river, def go on the night tour you go across brooklyn bridge and then they stop for 20mins or so so you can get pics of the gorgeous skyline, go on the 7.30 one, so you get the best pics!
Sorry for waffling! Have a great trip!0 -

Try red bamboo for Vegan food, great stuff http://www.redbamboo-nyc.com/ and if you are down near the Lower East side go to Babycakes http://www.babycakesnyc.com/
Also, I have found that american brand cosmetics tend to be cheaper but British and French like Elemis and Decleor can be more expensive or they were last year when the dollar was at 1.8 per pound so now they will be extortionate0 -

OMG Floyd I LOVE you - I cant eat cream and need a cake when I'm out there for my birthday - they do dairy free cakes whoop whoop :j:j:j0 -
Woo hoo - 30th birthday December 3-night weekend at Hotel Beacon booked. Got for $240 pn and got upgraded to the deluxe room as its my birthday and I asked if I have a room overlooking Central Park.
They also don't take cc payment until the first night so hopefully the exchange rate may have improved a bit by then.
I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!0 -
