Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like I couldn't be bothered to look for my own holiday, just some people are better at finding bargains then others, I looked all of yesterday and last night till 2 in the morning, and I came up with a b&b in Harlem...lol, also, with 3 girls, all under 8, youngest being 4 months I really don't have as much time as I would like to hunt down these good offers. Also, it was really just in reference to priceline, I wasn't asking anyone to help me with that to be honest
Sorry if it came across wrong. I would also like to point out, I'm not a newbie to this forum, this is just a new account I have created a while back for secret missions like these so my partner doesn't find out what I'm up to, its a suprise for his 30th, I have been a member of this website since the beginning and have helped others as well as asking for advice and help myself!
So....If anyone is willing to help me out, my dates are 26th May for 7 nights.

Oh, and with regards to what we want out of our accommodation, cheap but cheerful, perhaps not as far away as the b&b though, this will be my second trip there and my partners 4th, being right in the middle isn't essential, but I don't want any big treks.0

Hi Ninestone,
I'm due to stay here in the last week of April - it has good reviews but I havent been there before so its not a recommendation!:
http://www.hotelbelleclaire.com/
Its pretty cheap and in Upper West Side so a bit nicer than Harlem and a bit closer to a subway, but breakfast is not included0 -
Thanks Becky, that seems quite decent, I have emailed them to see if they have rooms available, the reviews seem pretty mixed on trip advisor, but I'll see what they say, and how much and decide then
Any other recommendations welcome0 -

Check out this linky for some bargains
http://hotels.travelzoo.com/new-york-hotels/
It is updated almost every day too.0 -
such as the well known Macy's - save 11% one..
The macys 11% discount is a card which you get from their customer service office which is located on floor 1.5, you just need to present yourself with proof you are an out of towner, ie passport, and they will give you a little card thing to get 11% off, however this discount is not applicable to all concensions and if memory serves you cant get a discount on cosmetics.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Because I go every year to NYC, I've signed up to quite a few of the shops newsletters and start reading them about a month before I go (the rest of the year, I delete them) But you quite often get sent discount vouchers in them. The ones I've signed up to are as follows: Ann Taylor, Old Navy, Esprit, Aldo & Banana Republic.
When I first signed up to Aldo, which was last Aug, they sent me a 15% voucher for use straightaway, so you might get one now for use next week.
You need to pretend you live in the US, certainly for Esprit and Aldo, otherwise you'll get the UK version of said emails.
Worth asking in Ann Taylor too, when you're there, if they've any offers running. Last Sept, they were running a Breast Cancer Cares promotion - you bought the card for $x and it gave you a permanent 20% discount or something. I know I always spend most of my shopping budget in either Ann Taylor or Ann Taylor Loft when I go, so bought one of these straightaway.
AT also gave me money off coupons every time I shopped. I ended up with at least half a dozen, but they didn't start til after I got back as they were from October or something. I sold them on Ebay - just need to tick that you'll send overseas.0 -
