Keep your eye out for good deals from the Hilton Group - the Millenium Hilton (next to Ground Zero) had rooms for $129 recently (I dithered too long & missed out). We're celebrating DH's 40th in NYC for Easter weekend & thanks to monitoring the Hilton website - I've booked 3 nts at the Waldorf Astoria for less than $200 a night due to their sale (did this a few hours ago) and the cheaper rooms have already gone now so be quick! Where's the Hershey bar for the times square message - is it easy to find?

The hersheys store is on 48th and broadway, its not actually in times square, however is almost impossible to miss it, if you do manage to miss it the store is opposite the M&M's store.

If you have a lookie lookie on google maps and type in "hersheys times square" you will see where it is on the map.

Hey, i really want to go to new york around the 8th April - 11th April..

Can anyone recommend any good hotels? Also, is it too late to book a cheap flight, should i wait until nearer the time?

    Thanks

Ive just booked a flight from Birmingham to Newark with expedia and it cost £318 all in. Ive also booked the Radisson Broadway in Manhattan 4 nights for £300 after quidco cashback. Really kicking myself as I booked the flight and then remembered quidco! Im going from the Thurs 9th - 13th April so I'm hoping this was a good price. Seems to be a good location and this price is for a single room. Im just concerned its a minger at that price.

I'm now trawling through the posts to try and work out what I am going to visit etc. There is so much that I want to do and see whilst there. Ive just been looking at bike hire for central park and the big apple greeters. I've purchased a guide book but I could do with some sort of pre-planned itinerary telling me where to go each day and how to get there by the cheapest method. Ive got 4 weeks of studying ahead of me!

    Pre-planned?????

The best thing to do is get your book and work out what you want to see, after all things I want to see may not be what you want to see, then go onto google maps and create yourself a map with pins etc then it will be far easier to work out whats in what area and what you can do on certain days, also include shops you would like to look at or restaurants you wana eat in, then once you have an idea about what you want to do then people will be more capable of helping.

Im not a big shopper but I do love good restaurants. This may be my only ever trip to New York so want to be able to see as much as possible. This is where I am mainly interested in going:-

    Central Park
    Rockerfeller Centre
    Times Square
    Flat Iron Building
    Chrysler Building
    MET
    42nd Street

    Statue of Liberty
    Ellis Island
    Wall Street
    Ground Zero
    Times Square
    Brooklyn Bridge
    Take in a show

Central Park (wicked if the weather is good to chill out and escape the madness)
    Rockerfeller Centre
Times Square (ooo if markymoo was here he hates times square, worth a mooch though)
Flat Iron Building (you cant go in it)
Chrysler Building (you can only go in the foyet, monday to friday)
    MET
    42nd Street
Statue of Liberty (Free to see if you take the staten island ferry)
    Ellis Island
Wall Street (only worth doing monday to friday it dies at the weekend)
Ground Zero (hole in the ground, building site)
    Times Square (twice)
Brooklyn Bridge (walk it or see it? you could mooch around southport and see the brooklyn bridge, or walk it and have a mooch around brooklyn for a bit)
Take in a show (book cheap through broadwaybox.com)

No empire state or top of the rock?

As i said go to google maps:

    http://maps.google.com/

and start your own map and put all of these places on the map then this will give you an idea of location, then when you go you can print it out, saves constantly whipping a a guide book out all of the time.
