well, my plan is as follows..
3pm check in to hotel
4pm explore midtown east, and find a pub
5pm sit in bar, drink, and have something to eat
stay up, drinking, might head down to LES for a bit, til at least midnight
friday 6th
breakfast, and subway down to lower manhattan
walk over brooklyn bridge, get a few photos
into dumbo, wander around to get shot of manhattan bridge/empire state building, might do the Transport Museum in Brooklyn too
afternoon beers.
subway back to manhattan, and then i don't have a plan..
so, not hitting tribeca until saturday night, which happens to be my birthday..
you can follow my NYC trip on twitter as well!0 -

i can get it for 500 for a week, which seems quite decent
Here is a tripadvisor post for PRESIDENTS WEEKEND 2bedroom
We stayed here for a overnight over presidents weekend. We also got a great rate though travelzoo, $149 for a 2 bed room. Room was very large by NY standards. Nicely removated. Nice kitchen area and bathroom. Beds were comfortable and the linens were great. Location was great.... a few blocks from Grand Central. Neighborhood was quiet.
Staff seemed quite friendly. We didnt eat at the restaurant. We had a renovated room, our only complaint: One window had lovely light blocking drapes, while one did not have anything but light filering shades. Also, the bathroom had NO, I repeat NO curtains/shades, etc covering the window. We ended up rigging a towel to cover it (it was late and we couldnt see moving rooms with our young children).
We would definelty stay here again though. Nice hotel, great price.
that looks good and has a good review:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
There were a lot of pictures of airplane seats, ceilings, windows
loved the rest of the pics though as it felt like I was back there all over again.
Mark go to the slipper room on a Friday or Saturday night!0 -
Not been in US for 8 years and off soon. Been told that you are now finger printed and photographed when you go through immigration - is this right? Just a funny query but my partner has a finger missing - what happens there????
PS - I have done my online visa0 -

Hang on a minute i have a spare cobblers thumb better still im not going back to america any time soon have one of mine.
Look on the bright side you dont need to give your partner a finger ring.

I can't see that it would be a problem: partner offers what digits he has, they match the number of prints he makes to the number of digits, job done.
I know someone with only two fingers on each hand, and someone else with a finger tip missing. You can't take a print of something which isn't there.costingbunny wrote: »PS - I have done my online visaSignature removed for peace of mind0 -
Imagine getting a phone call "sir your fingers just robbed a bank" or "your finger is wanted in 20 states and we will nail him" sorry been havin a small squiffy and mind is racing Sitting here picking my nose and scratchin me bum (bet your partner cant multitask like that) off to tiny pics so expect another huge greenface spectacular. BRB
where is it ???? mark what have you done with it ?? hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
