I do feel very lucky and I'm looking forward to seeing Muse too :j I keep playing the new U2 album to get in the mood0 -
you should "find" the Muse album, is it MUCH better than U2's current stuff (IMO!)
Can you tell I don't care that much for U2?! !?! *laughs*0 -
People who have been before please answer.
We are considering a 4 week hol flying Man-JFK.
But we want to drive down to Florida & Miami too and maybe spend 7-10 nights here.
Is it possible?! Or is it asking too much? Would we be best driving or flying between the two?
Which airline offers the best uk flights to america & back?!
When are you thinking of going, There are no flights between MAN - JFK between Jan & May.
Driving from NYC to Miami is around 1286 miles, and will take around 20 hours.
That's like driving from Glasgow to London, to Glasgow, and back to London again.
Is it too much? For me, no, I've driven 1000 miles with a night stop for work before, so something like that for me, who does drive a lot for a living would enjoy something like that. However, if you don't drive 30k miles a year normally, then you might struggle with the high concentration levels you need for continuous driving (this week i've done 700 miles and it's nowt for me, i'm used to it!)

We're flying down to Orlando International Airport from Newark, 3 hours flight time, cost us £87.10 with Continental (probably could have found it cheaper if I'd looked!!). We're getting a flight that should get us in ahead of all the UK flights to save on the queues picking up the hire car.

We've just returned from Miami (flew Continental for £232) and our flight had a stop in Newark, before leaving for Manchester.
We left Miami at 15:00 and arrived at Newark at 17:30 (30 minutes early).
Luckily for us, our flight to Manchester didn't leave unitl 22:00, so we took the Express bus to Times Square ($25 return) and spent 2 hours there including getting something to eat at Red Lobster.0 -

Not decided on the dates yet.
So about £85 per person, each way?
What sort of prices are people paying for Flights from UK to New York?
How long is enough in New York to see and do all the main things?!0 -
Hughesy,
It depends on when you fly as to the price you get, we paid about £325.00 for a flight to New York and then back from Orlando, the only problem with that is we fly from Heathrow and back to Gatwick. (It wasn't that way till BA cancelled their Gatwick to New York flight!!). We're flying out 4th November but booked the tickets last December.0 -
Im looking to book way ahead anyway too!
Probably July for 3 or 4 weeks. Manchester would be best, but any other UK airport wouldnt be a problem.
Who did you book with? Is that expedia any good to plan all your hol?!0 -
me no like expedia... for flights, they are normally more expensive than the airline itself..
also, bear in mind with internal flights in the US, that you do pay for checked baggage!
