Just answer a question on Carphone Warehouse website, the comp was sponsored by Blackberry who are sponsoring the U2 360 tour, there were over 400 winners for tickets to a UK gig and one first prize for the New York trip :j:j0 -
sparky61, i feel sorry for you... being forced to watch U2 who are playing in JERSEY, while you're in New York, you gotta go to a different STATE.... great prize, apart from the U2 element... *grins*0

Well, if you're a U2 fan, it'll be awesome, if my friends' comments on Cardiff are anything to go by!Signature removed for peace of mind0

When I entered I thought the gig was in NYWe get taken to New Jersey and driven back too so hopefully not too long out of NY
It will pretty much be a whistle stop trip I think, but it will be a taster and then I can book a much cheaper trip another time, with the cost of the flights and hotel we could probably have stayed for a week instead of 2 nights

Yeah, giants stadium is only about an hour out of NYC, so no great loss...
You could easily ask the company who have given you the prize if you can pay more to extend it.. 3 nights is just NOT enough to do anything decent, as you lose the first day really as you're tired, and the last day you're hanging around cos you ain't got a hotel room, so don't want to do too much...
personally i think 5 nights is really the bear minimum where you can get any fun out of NYC.. but as you say, you can book your own holiday and then explore NYC at your leisure.

I won a 2 night trip to New York and tickets to u2 in concert at Giants Stadium NJ.
We fly out with Virgin 23rd Sept and return 26th, staying at the Bryant Park Hotel on 40th St
This will be the first visit to New York and I can't wait :j:j
I just want to say thanks for this thread, I only started reading a couple of hours ago but it's so informative, it's going to be keeping me occupied for a few days, with so little time and so much to see, this is really going to help a lot :T:T
just one thing... which date are you going to see U2 on???0 -

The concert is on 24th - 7pm not sure what time we'll get picked up, we were hoping to take advantage of the free open bar 5pm - 6pm in the cellar of the hotel but think we might be out of luck.
It's actually only 2 nights, 23rd and 24th but we arrive back in the UK on the 26th because of the time difference.
I was offered the 18.30pm coming home and managed to check and see that there was a 21.35pm available and asked for this time and they agreed.
I think we'll probably do a New York tour as we are so limited on time, and thought it would be good to do on the last day, just need to decide which one. I've been looking at this one:
http://www.partner.viator.com/en/2511/tours/New-York-City/New-York-in-One-Day-Sightseeing-Tour/d687-2312NYC6HR
$47.99 each, which I thought was quite reasonable.
Back to reading, I'm so glad I found this thread :-)0 -
Sparky61 - that's one heck of a comp win. The U2 360 show is quite the spectacle having seen the Wembley performance and I believe you have Muse as the support band (which is not something that has been said too often given their popularity these past few years)..."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

People who have been before please answer.
We are considering a 4 week hol flying Man-JFK.
But we want to drive down to Florida & Miami too and maybe spend 7-10 nights here.
Is it possible?! Or is it asking too much? Would we be best driving or flying between the two?
Which airline offers the best uk flights to america & back?!0
