Boo.... by the looks of things, Delta are stopping the MAN - JFK direct flight as of 8th Jan 2010.

That is highly annoying, as us up north are only left with 1 choice from Manchester to NYC, with Continental flying to Newark.

tripadvisor might be of help, but they sometimes ain't that MSE orientated.

as for bargain buys, what one person things is a bargain, might be useless to the next, so I'm not going to recommend anything to buy in NYC, as I have no clue what "bargain" you're looking for

Yeah, but there are some discounts which are only available to NY residents, and some which are only available to non-residents, and in this thread you get to know which we CAN take advantage of, and even how to get round some of the problems (like needing a ZIP code to buy travel cards from a machine).

I won a 2 night trip to New York and tickets to u2 in concert at Giants Stadium NJ.

We fly out with Virgin 23rd Sept and return 26th, staying at the Bryant Park Hotel on 40th St

This will be the first visit to New York and I can't wait :j:j


I just want to say thanks for this thread, I only started reading a couple of hours ago but it's so informative, it's going to be keeping me occupied for a few days, with so little time and so much to see, this is really going to help a lot :T:T
