Hi, mark our dates are 13th-22nd august.

Savvy Sue- the kids are 16,12 and 10. My other dilema Is that we need to be at the port authority for our greyhound to harrisburg for our 2 day stint at hershey world. So I'm not sure whether It's best to stay midtown, but not times sq. or just go further afield and hope the trains get us to midtown on time.

I really need to get this sorted as travel republic say i've got till 4pm on 1st july to lose only 25%. After that it's 50%
Right , off to look at the cosmo.:T

why not times square:confused: in the middle of most things you want to see.
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

Port Authority is on the A,C Line, so you'll walk 1 block from the cosmo, and enter the subway there, It'll take 3 minutes to walk, and 9 minutes on the subway. Probably about the same as traversing Midtown.

Also, if you're looking at Midtown, you'll be looking more at Midtown West, and there ain't many hotels, that aren't a stones throw away from TS. I share your hatred of that place, it's just dull. A good photo op, but dull nontheless.

As for the Cosmo, it works out at $145 a night before tax for the timescale your staying, now, if you split it into 2 stays, as you're away for 2 nights, the hotel will store your luggage for free, and you'd make 2 bookings. This will save 2x$145.

However, let's stick to the original plan. The full stay of 9 nights, comes to $1558.91, and with using your trusty Nationwide Visa, this works out at £950.55 for the room, so thats £105.62 per night.

You can book this, but you do prepay. However, you can cancel anytime up to 3pm the day before and only lose $25. After that, you lose $149, when you check in, you can't cancel at all.

As i'm unsure on what days the 2 days up to Harrisburg are, it's hard to work out the split, but you could save a considerable amount of money, by not having a room in NYC for the 2 days. I'm sure the hotel will be more than happy to store your bags, I've left mine at the hotel for over 12 hours before, and they've not blinked an eyelid. Other hotels might not be as accommodating, but I know the Cosmo (oh, and they now know me!!)

Thankyou so much Mark:TRight now it's a toss up between the cosmo and the sheraton lincoln harbour-it is apparently easy to get to manhattan (even the jersey hating bunch on t.a. give this one the thumbs up;) and has a pool and comes out at just over 800.00.

However, the fact that we could save 2 nights room costs between the 15-17th is a very big plus. Thanks again.Off tpo make my mind up.Cheers again.

Well, with those ages, as long as they are half-sensible, I'd have no worries recommending two rooms at the Cosmo to you, with you and your beloved in a one bed room, and the kids in another. If they know you are one party they will put you close to each other, we were just opposite each other.

I know mine were a tad older, and on the whole very sensible, but it was all fine.

:rotfl:Whoops! Well, in that case, all four of you in one room, no worries, as long as the bed sharing doesn't phase you all too much! :rotfl:

Because there were five of us, we always needed two rooms, and in one place we had two double beds in each room. I did say one of the boys could come in with us if they wanted not to have to share a bed, but they've heard OH snoring so gratefully declined ...

I go in March every year, normally the week before the 10th, and I don't book til December/January time.

Up to you though, if you think the price is right, book it, just don't check the price again..

as for the hotel, nope, never heard of it.. have you checked tripadvisor??
