    Stupid question alert!
Which finger is it that they use for the fingerprint? I appear to have removed some of my fingerprints and have heard that they can be quite narky about it...

They do all of the fingers on your right hand plus thumb - unless you have been in already this year then its just thumb :D

They do both hands (did in April anyway) - i only remember cos my other half has a finger missing on his left hand and he got a funny look when he first put it on the sensor thing they use!!:D

I too want to go to the SOL crown but I didn't realise that it was limited numbers, I just assumed you could just get tickets on the day or maybe a few days before. :o

Would I be better of booking them before I go? And if so where is the best place to book them?

there is only one place to book them, so that obviously is the best place.. http://www.statuecruises.com/ferry-service/welcome.aspx

Thanks Markymoo, for all your help the other day.I 've finally conditionally booked the travel inn.Not the epitome(sp) of glamour,lol-but it has a pool, fridge and microwave(hopefully) and is near spanky's-I love that place. It's a restrurant/bar that is not a tourist trap,lol.$160 per night I don't think is bad considering and Is a few blocks still ,from the dreaded sq. so I'm quite pleasedFunnily enough back in march it's august prices were 329.00 per night which I ceryainly wouldn't have paid ,so I am pleased:j

$160 a night is good! there are a lot of offers on NYC hotels for stays before september 7th, so i'm not suprised you grabbed one!

keep an eye out on travel zoo incase some great hotel comes up for grabs, and as you've got a cancellable rate, you'll be ok to book something even better..

Hi, Ive had a quick browse over this thread [and will continue reading indepth] but wondered if anyone had hotel tips for 7 nights in nyc, quite central location with a bit of comfort?

ps. ive been before and noticed that sheraton and marriott are v gd locations, but obviously theyd be pricey options:confused:

    TIA

Yep I was the only one on the whole plan to get just thumb in April because I had been in Jan - she said it didnt happen often, but once they have your fingerprints theres not much point getting them again if the iris matches I guess :D

I think if your fingerprints have worn off rather than having missing fingers (pineapple factory anyone :p) then you might need a note from your doctor explaining why , sure it was on BBC online a while back...

I may regret asking this, but HOW did you do that? :rotfl:

See, DH has worn all the letters off his keyboard in the past, making his keyboard unusable for any but touch typists, but I don't think he wore his fingerprints out at the same time!

Thinking back to the original discussion with costingbunny, I think I said then that they can only use what you're offering, and missing digits are reasonably common, so they shouldn't bat eyelids at that.
