    Hi guys,

My first question is can I book flights using the American Expedia or AA websites. I can save about £40 per person on the flights if so.

I should think it would be alright.

I went to New York last month with mega cheap flights booked through the Australian Expedia website.
I was charged in Australian dollars.

if the sites accept UK credit card, then yes

LGA to EWR is a long trip, and you can't get the New York City Subway to Newark, as it is in New Jersey, and isn't in New York City.

You also can't get the subway from LGA, as it doesn't go there.

You're looking at least an hour, traffic permitting if you got a car service. You could easily be looking at something very expensive with a taxi, as they'll charge on a meter to the city limits, then charge you extra as they are in New Jersey.

You've had to get a bus from LGA to the Subway Station, Q33 to Jackson Heights - then the 7 Train through to Times Square 42nsd Street, the 1,2,3 down to Penn Station, and then get a NJ Transit Train through to EWR.

    Phew, that's complex!

I wouldn't think about going from LGA to EWR in less than 2 hours.

I was looking at the Le Jolie but the Le Bleu is nearer to some park which apparently is nice - Something about red bricks??? Far too many Stellas to begin to remember where to look!

    Hi guys,

I'm finalising my itinerary for my trip in November. We're wanting to go and visit family in Toronto for the last couple of days of our trip then fly back and head home from NYC.

My first question is can I book flights using the American Expedia or AA websites. I can save about £40 per person on the flights if so.

2nd question is how long would you allow to get from La Guardia to Newark on a Sunday evening either by train or taxi. We need to check in at Newark by 7pm. Google maps say 40mins in a car or approx 1hr 15 by train subway.

    Thanks guys

Right Expedia.com is a no go but orbitz.co is so i'll probably go with that. £113pp for NY - Toronto return, what does everyone think?

Can anyone recommend a good comedy club in NY at all?

I remember somone saying they went to one on here a few months back that was a 'free' bar after paying an entrace fee but that seems to have closed now.

After one thats got decent drinks prices and not too out the way.

    Thanks

Dillons Comedy Club (www.dillonscomedyclub.com) - Go to a 'promotional show'. Call up and leave your RSVP on their voicemail and turn up about half an hour before the show starts so you can be the first in the door to get the best seats at the front. $20 got us a show and unlimited drinks (pretty much anything, even shots!) during the show. We tipped our waiter about $6 each at the start and she looked after us really well and we always had 2 drinks sitting in front of us and walked out drunk. Really good quality comedy too! I can't recommend this highly enough if you are looking for good value. You can thank me later for this tip.

This the one? It's on my list of things to do;)

OK I'm off to NYC in 10 days time (can't wait!!) and just been trying to work out a plan for us so we have a rough idea what areas to hit on each day we're there. With so much to do we're thinking that this might be the best idea so we have some sort of structure.

Here it is at the moment:

    Day 1

    Arrive NYC midday
    Tour Bus
    Out round Tribeca at night
    Comedy Club

    Day 2

    Rockerfellar Center
    Grand Centrale Station
    Madison Square Garden Tour
    Little Italy
    Chinatown
    Soho

    Day 3
    Staten Island Ferry
    Wall Street
    Brooklyn Bridge
    Brooklyn Heights Promenade
    Brooklyn (2 hours tops)
    Ground Zero
    Times Square
    Staten Island Ferry
    Wall Street
    Brooklyn Bridge
    Brooklyn Heights Promenada
    Brooklyn
    Ground Zero
    Times Square

    Day 4

    Yankee Stadium Tour
    Central Park
    Bar Crawl Somewhere?!

    Day 5

*free to go back somewhere / to an area we liked*
    Baseball game at Citifield

What does everyone think? I think doing the tour bus on the day we get there will be good as it will give us chance to get our bearings and look for places to visit that we didn't anticipate seeing before we went.

Do you think we have a good balance there with visiting places in a smilar area? Basically all the places we've put down are the places we want to visit.

Any help, tweaking or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
