Owens I do love your little doilly, it must have taken ages being so fine and delicate!

thistledome aw shucks thanks, 'tweren't nuttin. I used this pattern for the squares then did a row of cream round each one and joined them like this. Thank heavens for Lucy. And yes , it did take ages!

I really most enjoy making smaller items like baby/kids stuff, toys, hats, gloves, smallish blankies, gifts etc

'Pops head around the door' :wave:I'm a lurker on this thread but occassionally posted on the special occassions forum. I learnt how to crochet this year but had a break over the summer. I'm still working on my first project which is a 'Lucy' inspired hexagonal blanket. I'll post a pic when I finally finish it and yes...it feels more like a job than a hobby :rotfl: I have to finish it before I start something else as I have loads of knitted unfinished projects and am trying to be more disciplined :o

Loving all of your makes and I'm sure it'll give me plenty of inspiration for my next project.
"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

I too am making this blanket, it seems to be taking forever! It's quite yarn consuming too so I think it is going to end up being rather small :rotfl: The more hexagons I do the smaller it seems to be!

It was supposed to be ready for when it got cold but it looks like that time is nearly upon us and it's only half done! Maybe it'll be ready for next year!

    Ugh I miss granny squares!

I'm a complete amateur at crochet but am using all my odds and ends of yarn making granny squares. The master plan is to make a bed sized blanket for the nursing home where my mum spent her last days. There was a beautiful crocheted blanket on mum's bed, and I reckoned that someone has obviously spent a lot of time making it, so I'm doing one for someone else to have :)
