I'm a complete amateur at crochet but am using all my odds and ends of yarn making granny squares. The master plan is to make a bed sized blanket for the nursing home where my mum spent her last days. There was a beautiful crocheted blanket on mum's bed, and I reckoned that someone has obviously spent a lot of time making it, so I'm doing one for someone else to have
Aww thats a lovely idea.
Wow all these people in here feels like a party ! lol0 -
I agree where's everyone gone again?

That's gorgeous! I've just been thinking that I need to get new cushions for the sofa. These will do the trick I think as I've got quite a bit of wool now in my stash.0 -

It was supposed to be ready for when it got cold but it looks like that time is nearly upon us and it's only half done! Maybe it'll be ready for next year!
Ugh I miss granny squares!
I know what you mean. I have the last 15 middle bits and just need to do the last surround on them...joining as I go but when I look at it, it really is quite small. Big enough to use as a lap blanket though. I keep telling myself that I can add more at a future date but I really know that what I mean is...I'm going to be too busy hooking other delights and I need a lap blanket :rotfl: At least it'll be finished"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

Answering the call for more picsThis is what I've been doing. I add the crochet hearts to gifts, like tags and they look so sweet. They are super duper easy to make from this blog

Here they are
I just love looking at pics of everyone's crochet on here.

Love Love LOve those hearts, what do u do with them again ?, i could make some and poss make a little bunting for my little girls room !:D ........... ohh dear another project lol0 -
I'll tie two or three together and add as a little decoration to any gifts I wrap. They also look lovely as bunting. I've also thought about doing a throw using them, would be a bit different. Was watching the Jamie Oliver programme last night and made a whole bundle of them without realising it. They are that easy to do and very addictive

Another lurker poking her head round the door:o
i have started crocheting again after several years absense, i did do several blankets, shawl etc when kids were born.
my Nan taught me years ago when i was little, she used to crochet fine lacy collars for a posh shop in london.
current project is a blanket that came from lucy's attic24 blog
http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/granny-stripe.html
but i am doing it for a king size bed, it's coming along suprisingly quickly. DD1(14) has got the bug and is currently working on her 1st project of a huge single granny square for a blanket, she is doing really well. Now got the task of teaching dd2(10) and ds2(12) how to crochet as well
will post pics when i get the chance...
i love maytaurus's cushionLead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0 -
Dizzylizzie I make those hearts but they are padded, its done by crocheting 2 hearts filling with a little stuffing ( I drip on a little essential oil) then crochet the edging after to join the 2 hearts together. I will post the pattern tomorrow when I have more time. They are addictive and look lovely hung on a door handle in a bundle.Clearing the junk to travel light
