Morning all (she says as tumbleweed blows through the crochet thread)

Well, I started joining granny squares and plain blanket squares yesterday and in future I think I'm going to join as I go as it is quite tedious. Or just do one massive granny square. :) It's a bit wonky but it's taking shape and will serve a purpose once it's done.

Owens - sometimes it's best just to leave a project if you're not 'feeling' it, isn't it. The pillowslips sound lovely, I can't wait to see them.

Work time now, hopefully there'll be crochet time tonight.

I did a big granny sq blanket and it went wonky, however in future i will work one way then the other if u know what i mean, apprently this helps the wonkyness lol

Def gonna start on the pillowslips this weekend.
Have you got the pattern to share please? I've been getting into crochet after years of not doing any, I'm looking for patterns to crochet for Xmas pressies and baby shawls/blankets. I love this pattern for a blanket.:j I've been trawling the net for baby blankets/shawls but haven't had any luck so far.

I've got some nice patterns for mittens so far :)

The pattern for the baby blanket is one from you tube, jst gogle "cream puff baby blanket"

    Hope it helps x

Got it, thanks. It's the first time I have seen a crochet tutorial, I might be busy for several days looking at them all!

  • Hello, not had time to post as I've been working all weekend. I'm still joining blanket squares together and I think I want to put edging around it.

Owens - what edging did you use on your baby blanket- was it double crochet? Good luck with your coasters.

    Hi,

The edging was jst single crochet, but its done holding 2 strands of yarn tog, good luck with the joining of gran sqs they can be a nightmare !

Picot edging looks well too or on my baby blanket i did 1sc,1hdc,1dc,1hdc,1sc (american terms) and i think i chained a couple inbetween x
  • That's great , thanks. In other crochet news, I've ordered a wreath form so I'll be able to start putting my autumn wreath together sometime this week.

Hi LJM, here is the method I used for joining the squares on this. I found it quite easy and the result is good as you can see.

Wow, what a stunning blanket. How long did it take?

Is there a pattern online anywhere? It's gorgeous!
