Hello all, I've been looking for a crochet thread and here you are. I haven't read through all of the thread yet, but your projects sound lovely.
Owens- your baby blanket is gorgeous.
I bought the Art of Crochet magazine that came out earlier this year, but I didn't buy the whole series, just enough to get me started. I'm currently doing plain squares and granny square for a blanket which, at the rate I'm going, will be ready in 5 years time. I've also been doing some snowflakes from a tutorial on Attic 24. I think the yarn was too thick, but I'm just practicing with cheap yarn from the pound shop. The main thing I'm working on is an autumn wreath which consists of lots of small leaves but I haven't figured out what to attach them to yet. I'm off to look at wreath forms now.
 Happy hooking everyone.0

Oh one more thing i got the art of crochet too, but omg that free yarn and hook you get with it is terrible i couuldnt use it, it really is better to buy a decent hook makes it so much easier x0

            Morning everyone,
Owens - thanks for mentioning the YouTube videos by Teresa - they look great. I'll have a proper browse through them tonight after work. Your blanket is amazing; I love the edging on it.
I really need to speed up or I'm not going to get anything finished.0

            Hi all,
Yeah thos videos are really realy good, i learnt a lot from her, dont worry about speed sometimes i go really slow sometimes fast it depends ! lol0

I am very new to crochet, but learnt the basics from those you tube videos too. It was the only thing that made sense and was easier to follow, actually seeing someone doing it rather than still pictures.
I have just borrowed from the library "First Crochet" by Lesley Stanfield, and may attempt my first, very simple project. Wish me luck!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
