I finished the newborn cap I wanted to make (picture on my blog)!!
The result isn't quite what I expected but I learnt a lot along the way so I'm happy. :rotfl:

Has anyone got any ideas for projects using a 10mm hook?
What kind of yarn would I need?

Nice to know you pop in on us at Knit Your Square To Give Your Share - Part 3
I’ll have to do the same here when I can, only do crochet myself now
I just thought some of the links might be useful ... and you never know ...
I might even get some more peeps making things for charity (cunning plan ... )

Ah, an ulterior motive!

I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff the ladies on the knit a square board turn out, they really are turbo-powered!

Hope everyone will have a look at the thread, there are some very worthwhile causes on there.
Oh dear, here we go again.

All you need is a hook & some yarn, try your local charity shop, try youtube for easy to follow tutorials.
Hope this helps.

I'd go to the library & borrow a couple of books on crochet aimed at beginners. You should be able to find the instructions for the basic stitches, the patterns you can do with them and also some simple projects to make.

i taught myself on the internet by using tutorials, hooks are only a few £'s,
it's very easy to get the hang of, once you've learnt the basic, there are also loads of free patterns and things on all crafts .net, which i use (can't do links)

i'm currently making easter egg cups from an old jersy bed sheet!! endless fun,

enjoy

:hello:Hello Lifebeginsagain

We have a very friendly crochet thread on here at the moment:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1402877

There are lots of lovely and useful links on there, some very knowledgeable people and plenty of inspiration!

I'm a complete beginner and have only crocheted one thing. It was one of those things I kept picking up and trying to do and eventually the penny dropped using a combination of idiots guide instructions and youtube tutorials! A warning though, it is VERY addictive.
