What a fabulous blanket, and dont your little dog look comfy,I bet he was soon scooted off, before any hairs got on it.
Well done, just love to see everyones efforts

Yeap! She has been desperate to snuggle down on it since I started making it and was there like a shot when I laid it out, my son keeps asking if he can go 'put it in the airing cupboard, mummy?' as then he can snatch it out when he goes to bed and snug down under it! It's a pretty popular blanket at the moment!

As for next project, I decided to use up the wool left over to make another, smaller blanket with a little more organisation in the colours. I picked one of the squares from the original blanket and then played with the colours and have come up with these so far (I think they look really 'Spring-like'):

The fabric pieces in the picture will be a pot holder, but I can't find the instruction book for the bloomin' sewing machine and I can't find out how to do satin stitch to go round the appliqu! flowers - they're glued on with bondaweb, but they need neatening up. Couldn't buy a simple, easy machine, oh no, I had to buy an all singing all dancing affair which isn't logical at all!

I assume it's my monitor, but those colours really don't look as nice as they do IRL in this pic. It's the Rowan Pure Wool in Avocado, Tea Rose, Hyacinth and Gilt for the pink ones and I think it's Hydrangea and Lavender for the others.

Pollyskettle. those colours remind me of crocuses and primulas, perfect for spring!

Love your tablecloth - it's the same as mine - we have SUCH good taste. Mine came from Dunelm but I like to pretend it's Cath Kidston!

I don't blame your little boy for trying to hide your big blanket for himself, I would too.
Oh dear, here we go again.

BTW Pollyskettle, if your sewing machine manual really has gone forever you'll probably get a replacement here.

I'm glad you're seeing the colours as I do! It must be my monitor :(

I love Dunelm - I only discovered them when I moved up here though! I nabbed my oilcloth from Laura Ashley when they had one of those 25% off weekends - it was already on offer so I got it for a really good price. I also picked up lots of the cottony fabric that matches, and the red gingham - hence all the blue and red matching stuff in the kitchen! I bought wayyyyy too much!

I might have napped under it watching flashforward last night :rotfl:

That's lovely artydoll. I haven't learnt to do crochet in 'lines' yet - I can only do rounds at the moment (the blanket is the only thing I have ever crocheted, but I am a knitter too!). I really must learn to do rows, that cushion is really pretty x

Thank you very much for that link. I shall have a browse and find it later on and print what I need. Unfortunately I completely blew up my 70s singer which I knew like the back of my hand so I'm using my backup machine and I've never used it before!

I notice from your sig you do Rosemary Conley (well done by the way!). I don't have a class near me, but I subscribe to the mag as I really like the recipes in it. I really need a kick up the bum to get my weight loss going again. I lost about a stone over dec/jan, but I think I've probably put it all back on again :(

I have a 1920s Singer which is wonderful and completely reliable - unfortunately it only does straight lines so I bought a posh new Viking last year which does everything. I've been having a go at freestyle embroidery and loving it. Still love my old Singer though, nothing can chug through miles of curtains like it can!

Yes, I started RC 3 weeks ago - I'd done WW before and put it all back on and I wanted something that involved exercise as well. Even though I thought I hated it I've actually found I love it! I end up all puce in the face and dripping but I do feel much better for it. Weigh day tomorrow - wish me luck!
Oh dear, here we go again.

Artydoll, your grandchildren are VERY lucky, they are gorgeous cuddlies!

Your cushion is fab - did you make 4 separate triangles and sew them together?
