Artydoll, your grandchildren are VERY lucky, they are gorgeous cuddlies!

Your cushion is fab - did you make 4 separate triangles and sew them together?

Hi jennyjelly ,no, my cushion was going to be a square blanket, but I got a bit sidetracked,I was folding it up when I put all the corners together, and it looked better diagonal .
    I,ll explain better,lol.
Lay square flat ,put cushion pad on centre ,pull up each corner to centre ,so your stripes appear on the diagonal.crochet the edges tocether,ok/
If your not quite got it let me know I,ll try to draw what I mean, sorry I,m a bit yuck today.

Well, I think I'm officially hooked on crochet!!

I've been practicing lots of different stitches until I felt I got them right and have made two dishcloths - not much but I'd rather learn properly.
    They're on my blog: http://justbecauseitmakesmesmile.blogspot.com/

I also found this fascinating idea: http://www.craftstylish.com/item/39345/how-to-crochet-a-rug-out-of-t-shirts - a rug crocheted out of t-shirts!!! Now that's thrifty!!

I also thought this might interest some of you as a way of making inexpensive bag handles: http://jezzeblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/handles_22.html

npsmama, thanks for posting those links, I particularly love the idea of using plastic tubing to make handles - you could fill it with almost anything, my imagination is working overtime now!

If you are planning to have a go at the t-shirt yarn, here is a much quicker, easier and knot-free way of making it which you might find useful.

Saving your blog for after tea when I have time to read properly!

Thank you sooo much for that link! The whole cutting process was putting me off but the method on your link seems much easier. No t-shirt will ever be safe again!! :rotfl:

I have a stall at a craft fair in a few weeks time and haven't got a clue about pricing. Any ideas on a reasonable charge for a crocheted baby blanket made from granny squares please? It's rather nice (even if I do say so myself!) and about 60cms by 70cms.

I sold this one on ebay for £6.50

cant remember exact size, but the squares are 3 inch square ,a bit more edging was done before it was finished.
check out my blog to see finished blankets

Would charge more at a craft fair though ,maybe double it,you can always reduce it later.
