  • Hi Pink Numbers, I have been asked by a lady on the Knit Your Square thread how I managed to solve my curling border problem. I hope it is ok if I give her the link above to your tutorial. I guess there will be others on there who will be interested too. Thanks again, Kath
  • Hi ladykath, of course, please feel free to pass the link to anyone that might find it useful, as I wrote them in hope that it'll help other people with the same problem! Thank you :)

I am really struggling to get to grips with my crochet, I seem to have gone backwards if that's at all possible??

I'm trying to find a tutorial for a really really easy beginner square. I did try one yesterday and it ended up not quite square but not quite a circle either

    Any help really appreciated!

By the way, where did the confused smilie go???

Where have you been to have only just missed the shruggie man smilie :rotfl: A few people have been upset by him and the rolleyes smilie, so we've all had them removed :(

    Hi All,

I now have some cheap yarn and some crochet hooks! :j:j:j

I started last night and can mange just one simple row. I dont think it looks that bad, thought id just practice trying to get the tension right, but im still not sure if its too tight or loose.

Anyway, i cant find something that in the simplest terms tells me how to go back, (is that double crochet?)

I just want to make squares or a blanket, im not brave enough for granny squares yet :o

    Thanks

You just turn the row around. :)

Double crochet is the name of one of the stitches. Be aware that American and British crochet stitch names are different. For example, our treble stitch is called a double stitch in America.

Hi All, this is going to sound like a really silly question but for a double crochet stitch I have been wrapping the yarn round then inserting into the stitch. I am sure this is right as I have been following the you tube videos, but have just got a book from the library 'Instant Expert' Crochet and it shows a double crochet without wrapping the yarn round first, am I going mad! I just thought I was getting the hang of things too:o
