Ah that's SOOO cute zombiecazz - love his purple ears, they made me :rotfl: !

I've had a go at [STRIKE]amigiru[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]amirugi[/STRIKE] little Japanese crocheted animals but just don't seem able to get my head round them, I will have another try soon though, never give up that's what I say!

I get most of my wool at boot sales and charity shops. The lovely lady in my nearest charity shop has even started putting selected wool aside for me which is great, though I have had to buy some I wouldn't have chosen myself so as not to offend her - it's worth risking a few horrors as most of her choices are ok, and I can always find a use for the horrors eventually!

Today's charity shop bargain was 650g of Wendy Tweed DK - not the most exciting colour but will make a nice warm sweater for next winter. I was lucky with that one as 'my lady' wasn't in and I just found it in the wool basket - good timing I think!

Right, a question for you - I have one ball of Noro Silk Garden which I have been treasuring for several months waiting for inspiration to hit me but it hasn't. Does anyone have any idea what I can make with it? One ball doesn't go very far!
Oh dear, here we go again.

What about a pair of fingerless gloves/wristwarmers? you'll find lots of patterns on ravelry! Beware, they become addictive!

Mmm I was thinking about either that or a neckwarmer - not much else you can do with just one is there?! I might have a go at these http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2009/10/wrist-warmers.html which I think would work well with the Noro.

I joined in on a crochet-along on a blog last week where we were given part of the pattern each day. It was a lot of fun not knowing in beforehand what the finished item would look like.
Anyway, yesterday was the final day where we put all the little bits together and here it is finished

    Those are really pretty.

As they look quite quick to make I'm going to make one and see how may metres of yarn it takes, there is 100 metres in my Noro and I reckon I might just manage these but I want to be sure first.

Will update in a few days!

Just noticed that she had 125m in her ball of yarn. still you might be able to do it. I had a ball of chunky yarn at the weekend and a 6mm hook and managed to get a pair out of 85m just. didn't really follow a pattern, just made a rectangle to fit, 1dc, 1 ch, sewed them up leaving a space for the thumb, then re-joined wool at thumb and did a couple of rows!
  • They are both really cute!!
