That's really cute greenpixie. I'm in the middle of making a horse, but I need some safety eyes like the ones you've used, so until I can get hold of some I'm at a standstill.

Finished my blanket :j I'm really pleased with it. The colours are even better in real life, like a stained glass window.

No pattern apart from the pattern for the granny squares which is pretty universal. It evolved as I made more squares.

I love the border although it won't lie flat. My tension could have done with being tighter for the border.

Penny I used approx 15 x 50g balls. Difficult to be exact as I only used a little of some of the colours.

Carolinosourus the border is simply the 'granny stitch' -clusters of 3 trebles into the chain space round the edge of all the squares as if you were adding another round to a granny square. You should be able to see how it is formed in this bigger pic. Can you see how the first row of the border (the fuchsia pink colour) goes onto the edge of the grreny-blue corner square?

Thanks for your comments everybody. I'm bereft now it's finished. What next?
