  • Does anyone know when the next issue of the magazine is out?
  • I have been searching for a video tutorial for crocheting granny squares and at last I have found one! Or, rather, two......
It is American so the names of stitches are different, but as long as you substitute 'treble' for 'double' then you will be fine. This video has slow motion bits so you can see exactly what she is doing, and she explains clearly. There is a Part 2 for the last part of the square.
I hope this is a link that works - http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1539888/crochet_granny_square_slow_moton_part_1/
You can find Part 2 on the same page.
    Hope this helps someone!
By the way, I am making my first successful granny square!!

    Hi everyone!

Just a quick question from me tonight, I'm sure someone should be able to help.....

A kind poster mentioned a site called favecrafts, and I've found quite a few crochet patterns I'd like to tackle. I've sat down tonight all ready to get on with my first, and suddenly realised that I have no idea if the terminology is UK or US! The pattern does say 5mm Hook (U.S. H or 8) - I'm presuming from the way that is worded that it's UK, but I don't to start then have to frog everything later!

    Can anyone help? Thank you!

Hi Bargain Bird! Thank you for taking a peek for me.

I've changed my mind and decided on doing this for a gift being given on Friday:

Sorry, not sure how to linky!

Edited to say - I usually look out for a SC in the pattern, but it's all doubles!

While I'm back in posting mode, I'd like to say a HUGE thanks to whichever lovely poster in this thread mentioned Attic 24! I can't get enough of that site, and have spent much of today (at work, ahem) working my way through Lucy's blogs and am utterly hooked (forgive the pun!).

I'm looking at the pic of that crochet gift bag and thinking it must be UK trebles, it looks too holey for doubles! I don't suppose it matters too much for this particular project, but I've got my eye on a couple of the hooded sweater patterns on there too, so I really need to suss it out.

P.S. I really ought to think before I post, which would save you all being bombarded by half a dozen posts in a row!!! Sorry! :o
