working on my hexagon blanket when i get a spare minute, which just now is not very often
Decided this morning i am going to make some Olaf teddies for christmas if i find a free and easy pattern.
My best friend's wife is expecting thier 1st baby in November, so i will need to 'get teh finger out' and get a blanket done to send down.
I need to make another couple of baby crowns asap.
As well as declutter and clear the whole house (hoarder - never a good thing to start).
Schools go back tomorrow too, so at least the routine should get back on track a bit.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Hi ladies, and possibly gents, I am after some cheap orange yarn to make my twins some pumpkin hats for Halloween, does anyone know where I can get some? This has been a problem for a while since we have always had ginger cats and wanted to make amigurumi cats but could never find a nice orange, even in the more expensive yarns. I have tried ordering online but always seem to end up with a neon orange which is not what I am after at all! A nice orange, pumpkin colour would be great if anyone knows where I can order some or buy in Bristol that isn't expensive. Thanks in advance :beer:The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Spice is a nice pumpkiny orange and not neon orange in Stylecraft special DK. Avoid the jaffa unless you're wanting to make traffic cones (although I quite like it - but I like the neon colours).
As for anything made:
It's based on the fox in Love Crochet mag this month but my eldest is Numtums TV programme mad at the moment so I adapted him slightly. Only now she's requested number 3 and 4 to go along with him!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Wool warehouse has oodles of orange yarn with many a good price, this is the link Jaffa might be the one you are looking for!
Good luck
The orange i used in this was like the Rico Orange in the link above. I thought it was a Pattons cotton/linen mix, but i could be mistaken and it actually is the Rico Creative.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

I am, slowly but surely, teaching myself to crochet using various sources. I said I would make some things for my granddaughter's Christmas fair and have now perfected an nice star shape to either hang individually or maybe as a garland. I have tried various yarns, double knit with a shimmer, 4 ply with a shimmer and cream coloured cotton. I like the cotton best but am thinking they would be even nicer if they were made from a very fine yarn and, if possible with a silver or gold thread through. I would appreciate any suggestions and also any suggestions for the easiest Christmas things to make for a near beginner to crochet.
Thanks.0 -

Thank you ladies I found a tiny little crafty shop near me with two balls of the Stylecraft Spice that dizziblonde mentioned and it is perfect AND not crazy expensive :jThe secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Wow I think I'd better change my signature - since then I have had twins and the idea of being 152lbs BEFORE going on a diet is absolutely mental to me now!The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

I hope it's ok to post this here but the blankets and twiddlemuffs can be croched
Hello, I wondered if any of the lovely crafters on here might be able to help me please?
I'm publishing a list of wishes for my 30 birthday of things I would like to do but which I'm too ill to do myself. Some of these things are craft related and I wondered if anyone could help please? You don't need to be good or highly skilled
I'm looking for:
-Any kind of handmade blanket or quilt for bedbound people to curl up with and to feel that someone cares when ever they look at their blanket http://my30wishes.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/wish-20-makesewknitcrochet-blanket-for.html
-handmade twiddlemuff or twiddle apron for people with dementia http://my30wishes.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/wish-15-makesew-i-spy-bags-or-twiddle.html
I have another wish for people to donate an item (details on the link) for hospital patients to craft with or to donate some time to do an activity at a day centre/hospital/nursing home (the hospital I spend time in used to have lots of volunteers who did craft activities with patients but sadly all but one left, it really gave you something to look forward to and a break from hospital life, plus good physio/rehab). Next time I'm in the OT said she would teach me to croched,
