Hi Sally :hello:
Bit of a busy time at the moment RL-wise!
I find patterns easier if I read them through and try to visualize how the stitches work before I start.
The pattern you've put the link to seems to be like this.
You work the base first backwards and forwards, then start to go round and round in circles.
You make a 'base row' of trebles, then the next row makes the pattern that you see on the picture - the shell bits.
The following row is the same as the first row, just you make the trebles into the same row that you made the shells into - just in the back loops, where you made the shells into the front loops.
This way, you will have a solid 'background of trebles and the shells sort of hang on the outside.
Read each line carefully and have a go!2025 Fashion on the ration

Hi Mrs CD
Thank you, I'll have a go soon.
This is the other one that I liked, but again no video tutorial unfortunately.

Hi Sally,
Ok. This one is a bit trickier.
The pattern itself isn't too bad, just a treble and double all the way along each row, doing a double into the previous row's treble and the treble into the previous row's double etc.
The tricky bit is making the bottom of the bag.
I'd suggest playing with a bit of paper until you see how it works.
Fold the sheet in half, leaving the last bit open down the side. Flatten the folded bottom so that you have an upside down T. Then fold the corners at the side over so you end up with a point, with the point at the bottom of the folded side. This will show you where to stitch up as per the diagrams on the pattern.
The alternate way of doing it is to make the 2 sides and the bottom separately, and sew them all together afterwards. (25cm top to bottom for each side then 14cm for the base.)
The rest is fairly straightforward, just read each bit as you go. The casings and the handles are just a long line of double crochet, repeated on each row until you get the width needed to sew together.
It might help if you re-write the pattern so you can understand it easier. I sometimes do this with repeated patterns. (e.g. 1 double then 1 treble along the row, the double on top of the treble, and the treble on top of the double. 2ch to turn for a treble and 1ch for a double)
Let me know how you get on, and have fun with it all!2025 Fashion on the ration

Thank you for your time with this Mrs CD! It;s much appreciated.
Trust me to choose one that's even trickier! lol
Good idea though about writing it out, I like that suggestion.

Nice to see this thread active again. I finished a blanket from Attic24 last week and have already started another one - they are very addictive and also easy tv work as once as you have the pattern started there is little to think about. I have also made some bootees from my first grandbaby due next month."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Thanks for the crochet love
I cant take claim for the blanket colours as I copied Lucy's pattern to the letter partly because it made me use different colours to mu usual choices where blue rarely gets a look in.

Loving the ripple blanket, PlymouthMaid - well done :T
Baby will look 'right posh' in those little bootees! Have you made a hat to go with them?

I have made a little hat actually as there was enough yarn left. I think baby will need a big pointy head though as it looks a bit weird to me. Will try and post a pic later in the week but can't get it now as ona work pc."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
