    Hi Bella

Very sweet little bird- I assume it is a circle folded in half? If so, very effective and easy... just what I like. It would look delightful hanging from twigs with 2 or 3 others and some decorated eggs

    Hi

Yes it is a circle, pattern from attic24 blog. On the flowers i have there are some eggs, and it does look very pretty!

The pattern is super easy, lucy from attic 24 is great with her tutorials.

Wow! Some beautiful stuff on here.

I have now mastered a few stitches and am raring to go. Today I made my first flower using an easy tutorial on YouTube by HappyBerry. Not sure if I am allowed to post links but the flower I did was the yellow one and I was so pleased with the result. I pinned it onto a fabric heart I made recently and now I can't wait to make more (maybe more advanced, lol). On Pinterest I saw some lovely crochet dish cloths which I am going to do as gifts - only to people who would appreciate a shabby chic dish cloth though.

It isn't a cheap hobby, I am discovering. I am wanting to find a source of cotton yarn, e.g. Drops Paris is one I have seen used. Lovely range of muted, dusty colours but I really can't afford to spend much on my hobby.

I've looked in charity shops but no luck at the moment.

Just to say I have now found what I think is a good deal on Patons DK cotton yarn.

Hobbycraft are doing 3 for 2 on many yarns. There is also a 15% off for new customers. TopCashback are doing a good rate until tomorrow.

I shopped around and thought their price of £4.80 for 100g was a good price so I went ahead and because my order was over £30 I got free p&p too. I paid, with all discounts, £2.44 for each one I ordered. Feeling chuffed with myself.

You did really well there- half price! Now you have to use it all and not stash it away for a rainy day!! How much will you get from TopCashback?

Thanks, I will. I intend to learn something new every day, well, on the days when I don't have my grandchildren to look after, lol.

I quite fancy nice dish cloths with a different colour trim. That will be what I do first, I am sure I can find a pattern.

We are going away for a week to the seaside in early May and crochet seems to be a nice, portable, thing to take with me to do when I have a minute to spare.

Today I followed a YouTube tutorial about how to add a border round a crochet square. I just did a small sample but I now feel I can do that. YouTube is great for someone like me. I am not very good at learning from diagrams or text.

    Hi

I learned myself by watching you tube channels, especially one called "the art of crochet by teresa" and of course the wonderful attic24 :j
