I prefer the normal one too, I wouldn't be able to cope with it not having a proper end14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

I would do it, starting off would be strange but at least you don't have to join the squares
I made 25 squares then realised I need too many for a blanket so I made some into a bag. If I attempt a blanket again i'll do either the stripes, ripple or the never ending version.
I've been crocheting for about 1-2 years not very often though and only really made granny squares. I've been trying to get more into it this year and so far made a crochet hook case and some fingerless gloves. Current WIP is a scarf ravelry link

Just wanted to say hello. I've just taken up crochet so doing little things here and there. I seem to be finding thicker wool and hooks easier to use. I want to crochet a small item for a colleague at work who is due her baby in a month or so. I have a go at booties but can't get the hang of it. I'm using My First Regia wool for the baby gift idea so it's a 2 or 3 hook and I find it very fiddly. Not sure what I am doing wrong! I am really a novice so am looking for something easy to break me in gently. Can't do a blanket as a different colleague has crocheted her one but open to suggestions as to what I could use my wool for. Maybe a soft toy. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.0

I've not used that wool before, or such a small hook, but u might be best to check out the companies website for free patterns for the wool.
i would suggest baby mittens and a hat.
(btw, you can never ever have too many baby blankets!)

Be ware of baby blankets with holes, little fingers can get caught in holes and threads which can restrict blood flowPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Hello,
I just found this lovely thread and hope you don't mind if I join in now and then. I will be on maternity leave soon and would like to start crocheting again (learned it when I was in primary school, and been doing it on and off since). Thought I show some samples:

If you haven't seen it before, ravelry.com is highly recommended by me for patterns. There's quite a few free patterns, and you can also see patterns that people have for sale.
I haven't crocheted in a while, but I love doing it.0
