greenpixie your dragon is lovely, is the pattern on the internet?

Thanks Kinsey. I bought the pattern from a Swedish blog over internet for 3.50 Euros. I have sent her an email and asked if she can translate it into English since I know a few other people who would like to buy the pattern.
If you'd like I can PM you when I get a reply from her.

Edit: I've just received a reply see what I wrote a couple of post further down

  • I have just picked up the mag, as it's weekly then get it today or tomorrow before issue 2 comes out. I don't think it's worth buying every single one tbh, my plan is to practice with the freebies then learn more advanced stuff from youtube.

  • As a complete newbie looking for a new hobbie, what hooks would I need?
I have had a quick look on ebay, and they have sets which I guess would be the most economical way to buy them. What range of sizes are most used and do I want wooden or aluminium?

    TIA!

Just had a reply from her. She has not had the time yet to translate the pattern but is working on it. If you keep an eye out on http://www.sofiasobeide.etsy.com/ she will list it there as soon as it is done
If you want to have a look at the stuff she crocheted here is a link to her blog (it's all written in Swedish but you can change it to English with use of the translate button on the right hand side)

For anyone who can`t wait to try a dragon there`s one here - not quite the same. Lots of other toys and just about anything else you want to crochet on this site as well.

I could kick myself. Years ago a friend gave me a book of patterns for crocheted baby booties - there were all sorts including baseball boots and strappy sandals - they were gorgeous. In my many moves over the years I seem to have either misplaced it or got rid of it. I wish I could remember who published it :(

Anyway, on a more positive note, I'm busy making a couple of bags from this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Crochet-Pauline-Turner/dp/1855858274. I've tried it a couple of times before and always managed to get a 'walking seam', but I think I've cracked it this time :j:j. I've made one for my DD2 (just need to get some cord for the handles), and the seam only walked slightly (I've tried it before and it was meandering drunkenly all over the place :rotfl:), but on the one I'm doing for myself it seems to be going fine at the moment.

The book is ok, but I think for beginners the instructions on actually making items can be a bit vague at times. She does have a website where you can do a diploma in crochet! http://www.crochet.co.uk/

Did you know there's also a Knitting and Crochet Guild? http://www.knitting-and-crochet-guild.org.uk/

at £600:eek::eek::eek: for the three part course..... I think I will stick to youtube! Can't really see how putting an international diploma in crochet would help any future career prospects!!
