Hi, looking for some advice.
I thought I'd be clever and make a pram blanket without using a pattern and boy was I wrong.
I stated by doing a chain, then found a nice popcorn stitch on you tube so proceeded to hook away doing that using some of that wool that the colours run into each other, so all in all it looks great.
I have now discovered after having a good look that the chain row is smaller/tigh t( feeling if that makes sense) than the rest so it's giving the bottom of the blanket a nice half moon shape:mad:
As I'm now getting nearer the length I want I haven't a clue how to cast it all off. I can live with the tight end if I can match up the other one and I'm thinking maybe there is some sort of edging I could do to cover up?
Any ideas? is there soemthing I cna do to remedy the tight chain row at the beginning?0 -
My little niece slept over in the 29th and I taught her to crochet!!
She made a flower bracelet and a flower bobble.
I sat alongside her and also crocheted a little bag for her to take them home in::A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I completed my last project last night.
My previous bag was very well worn and tatty:
So I used bits of it to make a new crochet bag. I reused the lining and strap hoops and a little bit of the outer fabric to make an iPhone holder inside the bag.
I crocheted 17 granny squares in yarn leftover from the blanket project:
Here is the bag to show a little of the recycled and shaped to fit lining and the recycled hoops:
Tada:
I just need a funky button to close it with and it is ready to use.
I am absolutely thrilled to bits and cannot wait to use it!!!!

Well done Jumble Jack for both teaching your niece and making that gorgeous recycled bag!! :T Need lot of patience teaching kids especially when trying to do it yourself at same time!
We are thinking of doing a craft corner on fridays to help newbies at things like crochet etc so hopefully you'll be able to come over and join in. Barbara will let us know what doing when. Any ideas how to keep those not interested like boys busy and quiet for hour or so??Home Schooling mum budgeting for 2 adults, 2 teens, 2 little ones & 3 cats

A craft corner is a great idea!!!! I'd love to get the boys into it. Will have to think of an alternative for them.
I'm very happy to help out with the little bits I've learnt recently.
I can't wait to come along now and bring whatever project I'm working on along with the other mums. How sad am I?!!
I'm so chuffed that i am now officially in the bag club!
Everyone there seems to have crafted an amazing bag and I've been in awe of their creations for an eternity.
Feels great to have finally bitten the bullet.

Fantastic jumblejack - that's what I call oldstyle recycling
I've decided that on payday I'm going to buy the Attic24 pack of wool and crochet up a dust storm - I have images in my mind of a really rustic, homely home. I'm going to do patchwork too! Famous last words! :rotfl:0 -
I've wasted an hour looking for a new project. My fingers are twitchy and I don't know what to occupy them with. Bought great funky bright colours yesterday. Fancy doing a bag or baby blanket but can't decide.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Here is my little green scarf:

JumbleJack those are awesome
I'm still failing at crochet, feel like I really need someone to show me in person. The terminology confuses me and I'm finding it hard doing everything right handed (I'm a lefty). But I WILL conquer this eventually, hopefully it will be easier once I have been able to watch the tutorial videos with sound on
Would love to make something like this eventually:
