CompBunny you sound like you are having about as much success as me lol. Think I have mastered the chain stitch but as for double crochet stitch it has me baffled. One min I think I have it then it all goes pete tong. As for counting stitches lol. I started with a 3.5 mm hook but went on to a 5mm thinking that the stitches would be bigger and help me to see the stitches easier, in my dreams
Treated myself to a magazine today £7.99 :eek::eek: has instructions of how to teach kids with knitting and crochet too, came with needles a hook and wool. Kidding myself but had some money for Christmas so thought yes I will not be beaten by some wool lol.
Had a great Christmas, hope you did too. Good luck and I am sure we will master this craft one day;).[SIZE=2]SPC4 #1395 Aug 11 £135.75/£150

Here you go - its very easy to follow!
A word of advice for anyone learning to crochet - once you know the UK terminology, I highly recommend learnin the US terminology too, then you will be able to follow any pattern! Once you know the names, it's very easy to switch between terms.the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Help me! I used to crochet as a child, also making blankets for my own children. Thought I would take it up again after a 30 year break, but I don't know what I'm doing. I am going around in circles. I have tried casting on for granny square and even a long chain, and it's just a mess. I have watched videos on YouTube and read web pages. Getting into such knots having to unravel or cut the wool! I feel like an idiot.......help!0

Can you help??
What is best way of sticking felt shapes onto crochet item? I'm trying to attach the minion's eyes, mouth etc on and used bondaweb but they are now peeling off. Dont think it would look right to sew on so really need to glue. Apparently hot glue gun is not good idea and dont think PVA will do job either.
Any ideas??Home Schooling mum budgeting for 2 adults, 2 teens, 2 little ones & 3 cats

Beautiful model and lovely ear warmers and gloves, bargainbird :T
Those of you having trouble with patterns for blankets -
Instead of making a long chain, and getting in a knot, would it be easier to start off with granny squares? You don't have to change the colour for each row - you can just keep on with the same wool. When you get to the end of a round, make 3 chain to be the first treble in the next round and continue.
Have a look at attic24 - there are some very easy tutorials.2025 Fashion on the ration

I have started a crochet scarf yesterday, in green merino DK (Rialto). Made it with a 4mm hook and 16 chains, looking a bit thin so think I might chain a scallop pattern all round the outside. Deciding whether to do that in green also or a purple merino I have.........Happy New Year everyone too!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
