I decided on making my daughter a dress next ..... however as per usual I didnt do a tension swatch and it has ended up way too small for her! I really should learn my lesson :)
Oh well, a present for one of my nieces.

Well I'm no longer out of inspiration. I'm going to crochet Lucy's bag

    6a00e551101c54883400e553a9b6d88833-500wi

I'll put all of my crafting equipment inside when it's complete. Happy crocheting. I only have 1 ball of yarn so the base willhave to be meadow green until I can get to the store to lap up some lovely colours for the stripes.

Can anyone explain how Lucy joins a new colour? Does she finish off a colour like you would at the end of a project and then knot the new colour on to that fastened off bit?? Is this better than the 'normal' way??

Yes, I'm sure that's the way she does it. I've done quite a few of her projects and that is the way I do it, and I'm pretty certain (from memory) that is how she shows it on her tutorials.

Hello again, I'm glad you are giving it a go :T. I've just had a little look at mine and have counted the petals on the first few rows, they go like this...

    1 x 6 Petals
    2 x 9
    2 x 12
    2 x 15
    2 x 18
    and so on......

So, they increase by 3 petals on every second row of petals. It sounds as though you have increased extra stitches, so to make it sit properly when finished I would unravel it back to where you know it was right and then carry on from there. If you look at the back of the work closely you should be able to see where you have increased the stitches, so you count round the row you should be able to see where you have added extra.

Hope this helps, and Good luck :)

Well i have unravelled the two rows and have done 13 rows in total (thats 7 rows of petals) it is now perfect and looks lovely, I am really enjoying it, thank you for suggesting this pattern!

I am already thinking what to do next. In fact do any of you do just one thing at a time or do you have a couple of things on the go? I thought it may be nice to have any "easy" project on the go that doesn't take much thinking about, such as a blanket and another one that needs more concentration and also good lighting. What are your thoughts?

I'm so glad it's worked out for you now, it is such a lovely pattern, I hope you'll post photos of it when you have finished.

I quite often have more than one thing on the go, for the very same reasons you mention. At the moment I am coming to the end of Lucy's Granny Stripe, which is quite simple with no concentration needed! It has been a bit of light relief, but I am missing the challenge of something more complicated, the trouble is, I can't decide what to do next :rotfl::rotfl:.

I'm thinking it's time to tackle that Ripple!
