Well I'm no longer out of inspiration. I'm going to crochet Lucy's bag
I'll put all of my crafting equipment inside when it's complete. Happy crocheting. I only have 1 ball of yarn so the base willhave to be meadow green until I can get to the store to lap up some lovely colours for the stripes.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

acrylic yarn is just fine. Have you seen Lucy's blog before? It's full of colourful crochet creations.
I guess it could be a handbag. I was fancying it as a library book bag too but don't know if it will be strong enough.0 -

Oooo.. and you have made the cushion also? I am lusting after that. I can't decide whether to start with the ripple blanket, the bag or the cushion!Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100

Yes I did make the cushion too and quite recently, and I love, love, love it!! I think it is my favourite thing, well certainly at the moment :rotfl: I am going to make another smaller one soon, I think they would look lovely together.0 -

It is another fabulous Attic24 idea:

Basically a crocheted rectangle stitched up leaving a hole for your thumb. To make it easier for me I used this yarn:
http://www.deramores.com/sirdar-snuggly-smiley-stripes-dk
I got the yarn on ebay for £3.65 with no delivery fee which was marvelous
At the price of the bundle I am keen to get it with my next installment of yarn budget the colours are lovely and I will always find a project for it. I have also recently switched to a soft touch hook after continuously stabbing the palm of my hand with the end of my metal hook. Took a bit of getting used to but I love it now!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Nice to see you too Sue
I bought some more wool yesterday. I love Rowan DK wool. It's so soft. I used to use acrylic but after using Rowan I didn't like the 'feel' of Acrylic. Not very MSE though.

I don't like the feel of acrylic either, especially when it's wet after being washed - it sets my teeth on edge.
I've started cutting up some old t-shirts into yarn so that I can crochet a bathmat. I might do a couple of pan stands too.0 -
Lucy's bag is fab, I made one earlier in the year, it's not in the prettiest of colours as I just used up bits and bobs of aran wool that I had left over. It is really quick and easy to make and holds a whole load of yarn and stuff when finished. I'll post a photo later, hopefully.
I am busy working on Lucy's Granny Stripe Blanket using her yarn pack from Masons. http://www.masonsneedlecraft.co.uk/zcart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1395. It was very reasonable, I paid just under £28 for 17 balls inc.postage, and it was delivered the day after I ordered it!
I am now wondering what to make next!
I have also purchased this wool from Masons, really quick delivery too! I managed to finish my mums lap granny square blanket ready to give her from Christmas, we were both very emotional when i gave it to her as she thought I had given up on learning to crochet weeks ago, she was really pleased with it and so was i. i am now looking forward to beginning something for me now, cant decide whether to start the granny stripe blanket or whether to have a go at the Attic24 Blooming Cushion????0 -

how difficult was the cushion? All i have done so far are granny squares and not sure where to go from here, I really love the blooming cushion, ripple blanket/cushion or the granny stripe blanket, what would you suggest?0
