  • If u search on u tube for tjw1965 ... her videos are the best, and she has many left hand versions of her projects and basic stitches. She also has links in the videos to see the stitch slower.

Funny you should ask...I've yet to get passed the 2nd row of 21 stitches, loops or whatever best describes them.

There was Jessie a little while ago saying she had just started...loved it..and had made several squares!

I want so much to get the hang of crochet but just can't seem to hold the yarn correctly in my left hand. I've watched countless videos and bought 2 books, is it a me thing or should I give up and try knitting again - though I can't as with a bad hand (accident) I just can't hold the needles (in right hand) correctly anymore.

Any tips anyone? Or am I beyond them!

missmilley, your work is absolutely gorgeous..and here's me with my 2 lines...how do you rate my chances of getting anywhere near your standards????? :rotfl:

    Sue...perplexed :(

Hi I have just looked in and seen your post, really try to hold the yarn how ever it is comfy for you. As you said, i only started crocheting a few weeks ago and have been learning just from a book and Youtube and I have nearly completed my first ever granny square lap blanket for my mum for Christmas! I cant wait to see her face she thinks I gave up trying to learn weeks ago!!! So if I can do it anyone can!!!

i have been an addict of Attic24 for a couple of weeks she really has inspired me, I have purchased all the yarn ready to begin the granny stripe blanket as soon as I have finished mums one. i would really love to do the ripple blanket but i fear that may be too hard for me, is it very difficult??

Oh help - I bought my first ever crochet hook today and some cheap wool because I want to learn (if you'd told me a year ago I'd be wanting to learn crochet I'd have laughed at you), the stitches look complicated enough without all this fankle about how you hold the wool:eek:

    Ami those blankets look fantastic!:)

    Welcome :D

I have given up on the blanket I started as a learner as the squares were all vastly different sizes :o. Now that I have a better grasp of the stitches I am going to start a fresh.

Just wanted to share this website with you all:

    http://www.woodlandyarns.co.uk/

Their prices are the lowest I have found for the type of yarn I have been looking for and their delivery was super fast the last time I ordered. Well worth having a look at.

Just made one of these for a friend of mine:

It was nice and straightforward and is currently pinned to stretch it into shape!

I get my wool from http://www.busyfingersshop.co.uk/index.asp their cheapy stylecraft special DK is £1.50 - it's doing me for now. I don't really trust myself with anything more expensive plus I feel guilty buying wool as the budget isn't too healthy.

    Those snowflakes look lovely!

Hi everyone, its been such a long time since i last posted so thought i'll give you all an update on what i've been up to! Also not sure if you guys are aware but Deramores online has a 10% off code at the moment (Rav2011) and 5% cashback, also if you buy 9 balls the 10th ball is free also. Free 1st class delivery after £20. So... i've just ordered some more wool for my next project! :o Told DH this can be his Christmas gift to me! Forget handbags give me wool any day lol!

Well i've been busy crocheting lots of blankets as my sister placed 2 orders for baby boy blankets which i still need to complete. The crocheting is done i just need to borrow MIL sewing machine to line the back of the blanket with some nice cotton material. I have made and finished a throw for DS's bed, now DD and DS have one each. I also made DD a doll's blanket a while ago but haven't had the chance to post the pics so here they are!
